Merrill
I was bearish on Merrill's future in Milwaukee, especially when they brought in Bryant and started playing him ahead of Merrill.
This article seems to suggest that Merrill may have an increased role there.

It will be interesting to see how they handle Sam next year.

Re: Merrill
It was always going to be tough for him to get a lot of playing time as a rookie on a team that headed into the season as a real contender for the championship; especially considering the lack of prep time due to COVID.
He now has had a year to gain much needed strength, something he had limited time to do in college - he said one thing that surprised him was how strong the players were in the NBA.
In my opinion, his most valuable asset is he is a pretty complete basketball player and not just a shooter. He sees the floor well, passes to the right spot and rebounds. One thing I noticed during mop up time is the other backups would come in and just jack up shots while Merrill was playing basketball. A good coach will notice that.

Re: Merrill
Reality is, most second round picks fail to stick in the league. Sam is off to a decent start. He hasn’t looked athletically overwhelmed and his shooting has definitely transferred to the NBA. Fingers crossed for Sam.
