Re: Neemy pick 39!
Congratulations Neemy! Incredible accomplishment
The Kings have been a bad franchise and have a terrible track record, I hope you are the start of a turnaround.
I know you will be much more successful than the last player from a Utah college that was selected to play for the kings

Re: Neemy pick 39!
I didn't see the Kings coming- but the Kings going heavy on D is interesting. I liked the Mitchell pick and I liked Tyrese Halliburton last year. Hopefully he can be an immediate impact player.
What a beast. Thanks to Neemy. Wish him the best at the next level.

I grew up in Northern California and the Kings are a great fit for him. There is a large Portuguese community there that will embrace him.SpectrumMagic wrote: ↑July 29th, 2021, 9:50 pmCongratulations Neemy! Incredible accomplishment

Perkins said he wouldn’t be surprised if Queta was the starting center by the end of the season

Re: Neemy pick 39!
If they don't re-sign Holmes (because of salary cap issues), he has a chance to start or at least get significant minutes behind Bagley (who has also been mentioned in trade rumors)

Re: Neemy pick 39!
Richaun Holmes.. and Bagley III both spend time at PF/C. both are pretty good. Bagley III is seen as somewhat of a bust-. But I think he still has potential I think.
If I were the Kings I would have gone SF. I think Holmes/Bagley III are serviceable and I dont think Barnes is the answer for them at SF.

Re: Neemy pick 39!
I don't follow the Kings closely, but many people in the know don't expect them to keep Holmes. That would open a some nice opportunity for Queta.

Awesome to see back to back draft picks for the Aggies. Great exposure for the program.

Re: Neemy pick 39!
I don’t think Bean gets drafted. I think he plays summer ball with an nba team and plays in Europe or Asia/Australia if he wants to play professionally.
For some reason I seem to envision Bean most as a future coach of the Aggies. I have no idea if coaching is something he’d ever consider. I just picture it.

Re: Neemy pick 39!
What are people saying about this pick?
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/2021 ... igh-marks/
This CBS guy is not too keen on Queta, but he really likes the Jazz pick at #40. He thinks Butler is NBA ready right now and is top 20 talent in this draft.

I do think it would be interesting to see how the crowd would treat him if he came back as an opposing head coach.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑July 29th, 2021, 11:18 pmFor some reason I seem to envision Bean most as a future coach of the Aggies. Re: Neemy pick 39!
I read this. I don’t know how you could say he doesn’t have any potential. He is still so raw. Guaranteed he’s never even watched him play. Small school? Oh must have lived his glory days already.Yossarian wrote:What are people saying about this pick?

Re: Neemy pick 39!
It would be interesting to see how the crowd would react. For me, I don't think I could ever heckle/dislike Bean. In the same way, I don't think I could ever heckle/dislike Spencer Nelson or Jacyee Carol. Even if they were on opposing teams. Now, if they went to coach for BYU I would lose a little respect, but I wouldn't dislike or heckle them when they came to our court.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑July 30th, 2021, 4:15 amI do think it would be interesting to see how the crowd would treat him if he came back as an opposing head coach.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑July 29th, 2021, 11:18 pmFor some reason I seem to envision Bean most as a future coach of the Aggies. Re: Neemy pick 39!
Once a former player has made the move into the coaching ranks, it's their career. By then they have very different motivations and responsibilities. I wouldn't ever heckle a former player for coming back as part of their job (unless they were here as a coach first and bailed to go to a rival and didn't even bother to talk to his players).

Re: Neemy pick 39!
Frontcourt just got more crowded. Delon Wright is the player being traded away, helps clear a logjam at the guard spot after drafting Mitchell.
In a way this could be good for Neemy, this probably makes it less likely that the Kings resign Richaun Holmes and to me Thompson seems more likely to be traded away or bought out at the deadline than to last the entire season. But you never know with the Kings.
