Re: Sammy is IN!
I don't things are looking good for Merrill sticking with Milwaukee. The fact that they brought Bryant in and he is already getting time ahead of Merrill doesn't bode well and I think tips the Bucks' hand as to their long term plans. They are looking for the more athletic wing player. I also think it will be to their demise. The league, in general, seems to be placing more emphasis on three point shooting and Milwaukee is hiding one of their best three point shooters on the bench. I would be very surprised if Merrill is a Buck next season.

Re: Sammy is IN!
I hope this is not the case. His shooting percentages and basketball IQ were on full display during his 30 regular season appearances. It would seem a bit premature to move on from him after just one season with what he has shown thus far.

Sam not showing up on the roster tonight. What happened?!
Edit (did my own sleuthing): Sam ruled "out" for game 3 with a sprained ankle :o(

Bryant in ahead of Merrill tonight again. Again - i think this is a sign of how the Bucks think of Merrill's future in Milwaukee. I'm thinking he gets released.

I agree that his future with the Bucks doesn't look good. Isn't he still guaranteed 1/2 of a year's salary? Guys in his situation still have to deal with the talent coming in from this next class of draftees and free agents. I still believe he can make some good coin in Europe.

Hard to say what is future in Milwaukee will be at this point, but he might get front row seats to a championship and some jewelry out of it.

I do hope Sam has the opportunity to play more in the NBA - I’ve enjoyed watching him this year. That said, even though I’ve never met the man, I have to think he will be able to make an excellent living doing something in basketball for as long as he chooses.Bank Shot wrote: ↑June 18th, 2021, 2:20 pmI agree that his future with the Bucks doesn't look good. Yeah he'll have a long successful career in Europe if he doesn't get another NBA contract. He is going to be just fine.papaj wrote: ↑June 19th, 2021, 10:25 pmI do hope Sam has the opportunity to play more in the NBA - I’ve enjoyed watching him this year. Just have tweaked it in his 0 min game 3. Or 30 second game 3 I should say. You’d think at this point they are not practicing heavily at all. Very odd

This is true. Just odd it would get re-aggravated in such limited playing time. No knock on Sam, that was not my intention.

I agree the other players say dnp coaches decision. Figured that's why he wasn't listed.

Re: Sammy is IN!
Unfortunately we know that Sam had trouble with the ankle in college, so this appears to be a recurring issue. If so, it makes it just that much harder to stick in the NBA. Having said that, Curry had similar issues early in his career, but with the high degree of trainers and rehab people he's around, it's not something that can't be overcome.
