Cade potter
Hadn’t seen his highlights recently. But came back impressed. Nice shot, taller wing, very nice finish with the left hand. Thought I’d share.
Seems like we have quite a few 6’8” or so wing type players. Be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

Re: Cade potter
Cade's game should translate to him being a stretch 4.

Re: Cade potter
He looks like a 3 to me, guys. Hangs out on the perimeter and likes to drive. Plays just like a Sean Bairstow.

He returned from his mission 6-10. So a lot of options for him.

I’m pretty confident that a versatile stretch 4 is the position for him.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑May 16th, 2021, 9:02 amHe looks like a 3 to me, guys. Hangs out on the perimeter and likes to drive. Plays just like a Sean Bairstow.

That could change things.AggiesForever wrote: ↑May 16th, 2021, 10:41 amHe returned from his mission 6-10. So a lot of options for him.
He may be a four, but that highlight video didn’t really highlight the things I traditionally think of as stretch 4 traits. Made him seem like much more of a guard. No pick and pop, no pick and roll, and no rebounding. Not to say he doesn’t have those skills.
I am probably reading too much into a single highlight video, but he sure seemed to have more “big guard” skills than post player skills.

Maybe he’ll need to redshirt to develop some different skills.

Re: Cade potter
That’s similar to Brady Jardine who grew on his mission and had to learn to play the 4. More importantly, does this kid have a 43 inch vertical???AggiesForever wrote: ↑May 16th, 2021, 10:41 amHe returned from his mission 6-10. So a lot of options for him.

Re: Cade potter
I heard Craig Smith previously say he was recruited as a stretch 4. If he’s grown at all I have to imagine that only solidifies that.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑May 16th, 2021, 11:30 amThat could change things.AggiesForever wrote: ↑May 16th, 2021, 10:41 amHe returned from his mission 6-10. Re: Cade potter
I agree except he doesn't look quick enough to play the 3. He is big enough to play the 4, specially if he grew another two inches. Stretch 4s play like he plays in the highlight. Good thing he is back already, he needs to get in shape and work on strength.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑May 16th, 2021, 9:02 amHe looks like a 3 to me, guys. Re: Cade potter
Check out the ref on the right wing at the :15 second mark. We could use more refs like him

That shooting form is a little different. It went in during the highlights though haha.

Re: Cade potter
Isn’t calling them a “stretch 4” redundant in today’s game?

Tell that to Craig Smith who called him that.TheAKAggie wrote: ↑May 16th, 2021, 8:31 pmIsn’t calling them a “stretch 4” redundant in today’s game?

I think it’s two different things to coach Smith. Justin Bean isn’t really a stretch 4, he’s a very poor outside shooter.

I waited an eternity compared to some of you guys, lol. I got home in June, my wife got home in August. She moved to Utah in September, we got married in March. Our honeymoon was the MW Men's Basketball tourney. Too bad we sucked that year.slcagg wrote: ↑May 19th, 2021, 9:43 pmLol.
