Wasn’t this guy rumored to be interested in USU last year?
I know we dont have any openings...
I don’t know if I see a retread happening for him at Utah though. I actually think there’s a good chance he ends up at BYU.

75000 views? Not bad at all. We're a much more disciplined group this year. I guess that's good.

I know we are out of scholarships and whatnot, but a guy like this could give us 65-75% of what Queta gave us on defense, you know, if another scholarship were to come open....

Re: The hopefully definitive 2021 transfer portal thread
I'm convinced the transfer portal is the solution for schools with minimal budget for recruiting. When you cans send recruiters all over the country to watch high school and AAU games and make home visits and pay for official camps visits to try and lure in recruits, just make offers to everyone in the transfer portal and see what sticks.

I thought we were assured by a reliable Twitter account that this guy was committing to USU in a matter of minutes a few months ago.

SLB, if you are reading this, come back. We appreciate your enthusiasm even if it sometimes turns into accusing people of really bizarre things in a certain thread that got out of hand.

Re: The hopefully definitive 2021 transfer portal thread
I'm quite surprised someone finding his twitter account & posting a tweet of his really chased him off like that. It wasn't even a big deal. If he was that worried too about his not having the two separate accounts linked together, you would think he would've made his username something a different than what it was with it being that close to his Twitter account.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑May 24th, 2021, 11:42 pmI'd noticed about 2 weeks ago, but didn't want to call it out. Re: The hopefully definitive 2021 transfer portal thread
I think i was the one who said look at the initials of the twitter account after someone used it as a possible source for recruiting information. All I was pointing out is the source had likely come from speculation on the board. By no means was trying to call out this poster. Anyways if you are reading SLB no offense was meant. We need your predictions on next freshman to be a future star on the team .Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑May 25th, 2021, 7:06 amI'm quite surprised someone finding his twitter account & posting a tweet of his really chased him off like that. I often disagree with his takes, but he is a true enthusiastic Aggie and does provide some useful info as far as scheduling, transfers, etc. If we didn't welcome back anyone who we often disagree with we wouldn't have a board, so if anyone knows how to reach out to him, please do. I tried, but his contact info is not available.

I will say about This poster that he went MIA last year and he mentioned to the board had been off due to health issues. Hopefully he is doing well in that regard.

Yesterday the Horvath transfer was announced. Must have been finishing school before they could announce.

Yeah, there are certain hurdles that need to be cleared before any player can be "officially" announced. Expect both Eytle-Rock and Jones to announced in the next day or two.Blitz79 wrote: ↑May 25th, 2021, 7:00 pmYesterday the Horvath transfer was announced. Re: The hopefully definitive 2021 transfer portal thread
After today I think all the scholarship players have been officially announced, so I believe the team is now set for the upcoming year.
The only thing I’m uncertain on is if Rylan’s high school teammate (the Walk on from Snow College) has been announced yet.
With this roster I feel pretty good, and much better than I did when Coach Odom was first hired. I think he did well, and time will tell how good this recruiting cycle is. Overall optimistic the team can been a top 3 in the league and compete again for the MWC championship and potentially make another NCAA tournament.

Re: The hopefully definitive 2021 transfer portal thread
My guess: Both Gach didn't fit the OKG template. Maybe he seemed less likely to buy into a system (with grass is always greener on the other side mentality), or maybe has off court issues. My first thought with someone that Coach Smith would pass on is that they don't play defense. I don't know Both Gach's game, but I thought he was a good defender.
Maybe he wanted to be in a big market school, so staff thought he might be dissatisfied with life in Logan. Maybe they heard about how he complained a lot or was more focused on USU during his time at the U... Coach Smith seemed to really like the nose-to-the-grindstone sort of individuals.

According to KSL, Bean is in the draft. Highly doubt he stays but just something to consider.

I imagine this is him getting his name out there. He didn't get much glory last season, despite how incredible he was. But if his name is on the list, I would imagine he starts to get more recognition and then he can leverage that this upcoming season to get more notice of how great of a player he is.Bean has already publicly said he'll be back in Aggie blue next season, saying in a video on Twitter that he "can't imagine playing for anyone else" and he plans to "run it back" next season.
I don't know where Bean's skill ceiling is, but it's clear that he's incredibly talented, works hard, and wants to develop. Maybe he gets into the NBA in a year or two (esp. once he starts draining those 3s... in Bean I believe!) But I would be very surprised if he doesn't have the opportunity to play professionally.

This has to be just a chance to get pointers from NBA guys on how to improve his game.
