Let's say we don't get Lowell.SLB wrote: ↑April 13th, 2021, 11:24 pmLet's say that we got Eytle-Rock, Horvath, and Lowell out of the transfer portal
We would still have the tallest team thing, and we would have height advantage with 5 players that could play that are 6'10" and above. We would have probably McChesney, Horvath, and Lowell as potential players to rotate with Miller. I do like the idea of having shooters that are 6'10".

Re: The hopefully definitive 2021 transfer portal thread
If we're reaching out to guys like this I'm seriously concerned for our future and things will not be "fine". If we're this desperate why not reach out Kolby Lee instead of Lowell. I'm pretty sure Kolby has not suffered from significant injuries.

Why in the hell would Odom reach out to Lowell? Are we really this desperate or is Odom like John Hartwell and just trying to help out a friend to make him look "more desirable" to other teams?

Re: The hopefully definitive 2021 transfer portal thread
What’s the over/under on the number of posts that will ensue on this thread? Since some follow the comings and goings on the portal religiously in order to post the latest info I’d say we are good for at least 10 more pages of profiles of players that will not be coming to USU. I can hardly wait.

This is big stuff, and Odom's east coast connections are being tested here.

I'll take last year's starting center from UVU. Has he entered the portal yet?

I think that we are getting this player. Outside the transfer portal madness and a player from England, it looks like someone that Odom would land.

Wasn't he contacted by the old staff (i.e. Coach Peterson)? Has he been reached out to again since Coach Odom was hired?

We have NOT contacted this kid. The old staff might have. They recruited Compass Prep heavily.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑April 14th, 2021, 4:15 pmWasn't he contacted by the old staff (i.e. Coach Peterson)? Has he been reached out to again since Coach Odom was hired?

I think we were interested in this kid last year. Granted different coaching staff. I hope we reach out here. Could see him in the mw next year

I could see him landing in the MW as well. Killed it in the Big Sky and did ok in the PAC12. Probably a good MW level talent. Distributes well and takes care of the ball (only 0.7 TO’s in 26 mins at ASU). A career 30% three point shooter but wouldn’t likely be a volume shooter for us but more of a dribble drive and kick and control the ball kind of guy.

Re: The hopefully definitive 2021 transfer portal thread
Actually might follow his former coach at Portland state to Texas tech. But I agree it seems a high level mid major conference would be a nice fit for him him based upon his numbers at asu and Portland state.AGGIEinIOWA wrote: ↑April 14th, 2021, 7:10 pmI could see him landing in the MW as well. I figure to post this to show the numbers transfer that exist so far, and the number keeps climbing.
I would add that all the Aggies in the transfer portal are still there.

Re: The hopefully definitive 2021 transfer portal thread
More names are added day by day. It has to be next to impossible for a school with our recent and historical success and available playing time to strike out. At least I hope so.
I have to imagine that if we want Eytle-Rock or Horvath, they are ours since the entire UMBC staff is coming.

Re: The hopefully definitive 2021 transfer portal thread
There are a lot of transfers that are committing to new programs every day. The interesting thing is that the vast majority of players are making either lateral moves or stepping down a level. Not too many are moving up and improving leagues much.

I see where New Mexico just grabbed Jaelen House from Arizona State. He was a 4 star out of high school but has mostly just been a role player so far..I think we will see more and more of these sorts of recruits..Dudes that are looking for minutes..

Re: The hopefully definitive 2021 transfer portal thread
I think nvspuds and I are both talking about highly rated guys from P-5 schools that have not got a lot of playing time at those schools. Eytle-Rock may transfer, but it won't be because of lack of playing time at UMBC.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑April 15th, 2021, 8:51 pmHopefully we at least see Eytle-Rock.
