He reminds me a lot of my relatives from New Jersey. Same vibe.
He mentioned some players were not there. Any idea who those players were, or why they were not there?

Sounded like he isnβt about to counsel anyone out of the program - for good or for bad.

For sure, he just has a different personality. I loved coach Smith and the way he interviewed, but thought Ryan did awesome. He is for sure more reserved than Craig, but that is just fine. I have high hopes that we will do well.

I'll personally welcome you to the Spectrum for a game so you can experience that crowd. I would suggest BYU, SDSU, or Nevada. I'll be coming from California.
In return you can buy me a sandwich at Boog's BBQ in Camden Yards. I really need to get back there for another game (lifelong fan).

I'm going to miss the CS over the top enthusiasm a bit. But, alright, I will get used to Coach Odom. He sounds genuine and from the videos of him. Looks to have a great basketball mind.

Re: Press conference today 11 am MST
Same- I was wanting him to be like "we're gonna keep the spectrum magic alive by winning a lot of freaking basketball games", but its okay. Not everyone presents themselves that way- maybe he is at practice and in private, and maybe not. Ultimately it doesn't really matter, as long as he does win a lot of freaking basketball games and he certainly looks capable.

Re: Press conference today 11 am MST
The folks that carry the games were the only station in SLC to air the press conference live and was the first to have a one on one interview with Ryan Odom.
They were the only station to interview John Hartwell after Craig Smith decided to leave and will probably be the only station to interview John Hartwell later in the week to discuss the process of hiring Ryan Odom.
Those folks were the only station in SLC to interview a UMBC beat writer from the Washington Post to discuss Ryan Odom history at UMBC.
The current voice of the Aggies also has a show that runs from 10-2 and often has sales remotes that do not allow him to leave his show on 48 hours notice, but still, as noted above, dedicated a good portion of his show to the hiring.
The current voice of the Aggies apparently also likes to talk in the third person.

I can't listen as often as I used to with my job changing. However, I used to catch your show almost everyday. I am very appreciative of all of the work you did to get USU more exposure in Salt Lake City. I also know you give a lot more coverage to USU than any other media there, so you don't need to defend yourself to me. I don't recall anyone else doing live shows right from USU before 1280 started.ScottGarrard wrote: βApril 7th, 2021, 5:16 pmThe folks that carry the games were the only station in SLC to air the press conference live and was the first to have a one on one interview with Ryan Odom.

Well done Scotty. I don't live in Utah, I live in Colorado. I listen to Kreckmen and Lindahl, which Scotty appears on occasionally. That said, whenever Utah State appears on 1280, I make it a point to listen. I listened to the Washington Post writer earlier this week. I listened to JH last week. I listened to Ryan Odom today and I imagine I will listen to JH later this week. Well done!ScottGarrard wrote: βApril 7th, 2021, 5:16 pmThe folks that carry the games were the only station in SLC to air the press conference live and was the first to have a one on one interview with Ryan Odom.
