One plays for 1 seed Baylor
One plays for Utah State
For anyone from Utah State to win an award like that they'd have to be so far above the competition so as to make it a foregone conclusion.

I can't believe Davion Mitchell isn't related to Donovan Mitchell. Besides the name they both wear #45 (which is an strange number for a guard), similar builds, and their games are identical.

Re: Naismith Defensive Player of the Year
Do the metrics take into account the strength of schedule? It would make sense that Mitchell would get it over Queta if Mitchell was playing better competition and still putting up those stats. (Just trying to look at this without Aggie goggles.)

Mitchell had the whole being on a Final Four team in his favor.

Re: Naismith Defensive Player of the Year
I have only watched Mitchell play 2 or 3 times this season, but Queta has a greater impact on the game when he is on the floor than Mitchell. Although that is probably because Mitchell has All-Americans around him. I think had USU won a game or two in the tourney, Queta could have won the award.

Mitchell is incredible. He's been great to watch in the tournament.
