Mitchell MW POY by Coaches

Happy for Fonz but Neemi for POY was a no-brainer IMO.

Lame. Shouldn't have been Mitchell when he didn't dominate in MW play the way Queta did and furthermore, we swept them. Conference standings were separated by one game.

I'm guessing this was a situation where the coaches felt Queta didn't need to win both the POY and the DPOY, and this gave them the excuse to share the love. Dutcher getting COY over Medved is an oversight as well. Happy for Fonz, I wasn't expecting that. Glad that Bean was on the second team but they included 6 players on the 2nd team so does that mean two of them tied? Of those 6 I think Kijab would be the one I'd drop down to 3rd team.

It looks like the "Coaches" only pander to the flagship schools as well. How the hell do you justify giving the MVP to a dude that played in 5 less games than his closest competitor in Neemias?

Typical of the conference coaches. Coach and player always seem to go to the top team.

Sorry, POY and DPOY can only be given to the same player if he's from SDSU.

True. However I still can’t believe last year that they gave dpoy to a guy who wasn’t even the best guard defender on his team.

What a joke. Mitchell was a distant third behind Queta and Alston

All I can say is this will be wonderful bulletin board material for Queta to dominate this week and bring home the championship again

I tend to favor coaches polls over media polls as a general rule..

Queta, harness that energy and take it out on teams in the conference tournament. This truly is a joke, Queta is by far the most player to any team in the conference. They way he impacts the game is 2nd to none.

I see it, now. Mitchell's a better free throw shooter.

^This. Nobody would ever be considered for NBA MVP who missed 20 games (~25% of schedule.)

So who won ugliest POY? Oh, n/m they didn't vote because everyone already knows it's Jordan Schakel.

Alston could've won if he just hadn't cut that hair.

And Meah has to be an honorary mention here.

That is crap. The MW always gives it to a player from the first or second place team. I thought once we clinched the 2 seed they would naturally give it to Queta since there is no player in the conference with greater impact. Shame.

How did Fonz win sixth man of the year but didn't make any of the all conference teams? That seems a little odd.

Both first and second all conference teams are made up of solely starters from around the league if I’m not mistaken. So to make them they would be saying our sixth man is better than 80% of the conferences starters. Including some of our own.

Ike from Wyoming just scored 32 points which put him 11.27 points per game in-conference play, and in the last 9 games Ike not against Queta and Aggies Ike has scored 13.56 per game. Ike against Queta and Aggies scored only 2 points.

What percentage of the All MW Conference teams are transfers, as opposed to being recruited by and playing only for the MW team?

add in yesterday's results to the argument, clearly Neemias Queta is the MW POY. I say recall the Matt Mitchell award

I think we all know Queta was the better candidate. But Mitchell is good and absolutely could go off on us for 30 pts today.
