Shulga

Post by slcagg » February 19th, 2021, 10:58 pm

He played ahead of bairstow in the second half. After not playing very much I thought he handled his mins very well. Nothing flashy but didn’t hurt us while he was out there. Think we will see more of him next week.

I thought he played well, he did not get a lot of opportunities to shoot, but he played solid. He was for sure not a liability. With Rollie out we need him to step up and play more minutes.

Yeah I thought he played good. I’m past appearances he was lost on defense but seemed to be playing ok there. He had a steal and was part of a critical rebound he knocked out to the perimeter. He missed his one 3. Hopefully he gets settled in.

I would take Shulga over Bairstow 9 times out of 10. Bairstow can't hold on to the ball and gets stripped or just drops it on fast breaks

I like Bairstow but his fast breaks make your heart race because he struggles to hold onto the ball.

Also, Shulga was there in a couple of key plays in ways I wouldn't have expected Bairstow to be. He was up at the rim to get a put back on one play (wasn't needed, but he was right there), and the very next play he was at the other rim and picked up a rebound. I'm hopeful to see him get more minutes, because he looked solid out there. No traveling violations or painful TOs that I recall.
