Turning Point In The Game

Post by Aggie84025 » February 17th, 2021, 9:53 pm

To me the turning point was when it was 54-51 Aggies and we forced a tough 3 point shot, they miss, Bairstow gets the rebound, but does not notice the Boise player behind him and gets the ball stolen. They then hit a 3 and go on a 9-2 run to go up 60-56. That was a huge point. Not saying it is the end all be all, but that took the wind out our sails a little bit.

One other thing is I thought our defense was not great tonight. We gave up a lot of wide open 3's and our pick and roll defense was poor.

Yeah, it was sort of what happened in Boise last year when we gave up a large lead. The lead not so large this year but same script.

I would pinpoint the exact same moment. Bairstow followed that up with some bad D and got pulled shortly after.

It felt like towards the end we bailed on our defensive scheme. Guard the perimeter and let Queta handle the paint. Obviously 4 fouls doesn’t help that.

Our guards sucked last night, that is what cost us the game. 7-22 1-10 from 3 and poor FTs.. game over!

One thing we need to get fixed for next game is defense. We had I think ~12 turnovers which is not terrible for our team. We obviously need to shoot the 3 ball better, but our defense needs to improve a lot in order to give us a chance.
