Sam in the G League

Unfortunately because of the g league having smaller players, Sam is playing a lot of SF. G League is hard to watch as most players are playing for themselves. However, it is what is and Sam needs to shoot better to continue to show what he can do.

Sam had a great game today as the Hustle took down Salt Lake City Stars!

I am not sure what’s up with his FT shooting. He has missed almost all his FT attempts while playing for the Hustle. He was always automatic in college!

Malachi Flynn had 35 in his last game in the G league. I watched his highlight clip from that performance. He really can score in a variety of ways - moreso than Merrill. If you are interested:

I am a Raptors fan and am very happy to see Flynn do well! However he puts up a lot of shots and is the guy the team looks to score. Sam is in a different situation on the Hustle as he is unfamiliar with the organization and was just thrown into it. Plus he is more unselfish as a player. But Sam needs to improve his shooting a bit and be more consistent.

Apparently the Memphis Hustle have Sam listed as a F. Not that he can't play the 3, but certainly seems like it's not his ideal position.

I don't think position listing really matters much in the G League. They are pretty much just 4 guards and a forward out there and the 4 guards are interchangeable.

When the season started, the ESPN website listed Sam as a forward too. They changed it since then.

Sam doing well today, but Memphis is taking advantage of about 25% of Sam's skills.
They basically have him standing in the corner on offense. What a waste.

I am watching the game and he is doing pretty good besides a few misses. I agree...He can do so much more when he drives and facilitates, but seems like they are trying to make him a 3 point specialist.

Bucks traded Augustin. It'll be interesting to see if Sam gets more PT now.

I saw the headline about the big trade. I when I read the article I was happy to see that Sam was not included in the transaction.
