Where are you seeing this? I know they can practice in New Mexico right now but can't find anything about them playing in the Pit again. The women have a "home" game in Texas today.

You are correct. Only practice for now but at least they can return back to their own state and beds and this will be a step in the direction to playing at home.

WHat is funny is that the cases in Utah were higher than those of new mexico. Granted Utah has 1 million more people, so in with that cases/100k were probably pretty equal. Utah State has managed to practice at home, play at home and even have ~15-18% capacity attendance games and be just fine. Thankful for where I live.

This whole thing with first their football going to Las Vegas, then the basketball to Lubbock, along with San Jose State's deal relocating football to Las Vegas then basketball to Phoenix, reminds me of when we were kids and our parents didn't like us playing video games rated T or M, so we would just go to our friends houses to play the games. It seems like every group of friends has a few kids whose parents don't like them playing games beyond E ratings, and one kid whose parents don't care so they play the games at that kid's house.

Thanks for sharing quack. Great to see. I expect those numbers to plummet even more now with last weeks guidance on testing guidance from WHO in regards to a confirmed case. If these are the drivers to allowing games, fans etc, perhaps some of you will get to go to Vegas after all.

In addition utah is doing about 14k vaccinations per day. I imagine other states are doing similar or more. Utah has vaccinated about 10% of adult population. Things are looking better.

The only problem with the first arrow in the graph is that it was actually the middle of October when they decided not allow the team to practice or play games in New Mexico. So the numbers were lower in October than they are now. It makes no sense.

They thought cases would go up soon. Whether they are right or not is written plainly on the chart. Especially with the context of how Covid affects the obese and native Americans disproportionately, both of which they have in spades, I don’t blame them.

Looks like most of their team is going to opt out for the rest of the season. They forfeited their first game with San Diego State, and will most likely the second one as well. This miserable season may be over for them.
