Bean...
Just a quick thought...it seems that now that Justin has more of a green light as far as his shots are concerned, he is not getting the "hustle" buckets he did last year. It seems he is more out of position for those or is not as aggressive. It's probably just my flawed perception, and we are certainly a more balanced team than in the past. His energy last year was just such a catalyst for good things. Maybe we don't need that as much this year?

Re: Bean...
Bean has a really good 15 foot jump shot. In my opinion he needs to stop taking 3's. He doesn't take a lot, but he has not been effective at all with them.

Re: Bean...
I honestly think it's because this a more complete team with more hustlers also scrambling after the ball. Bean is an infectious hustler.

Re: Bean...
I think that is a good observation. The whole team has taken on the GATA mentality. Queta goes to the floor 2-3 times a game diving after loose balls. This team an their effort on defense and rebounding is fun to watch.

Re: Bean...
I think teams focus on keeping Bean off the boards. He can completely change a game if left unchecked.

Re: Bean...
i was thinking the same thing - and also Queta seems to be in better position this year and is getting more of the boards that Bean would have retrieved last year

Re: Bean...
Agreed on both. Obviously, I've been impressed with how Queta's been playing. He's been painfully dominant. But his steals and diving to the floor have really shown me that he's not messing around. He's here to dominate. It's also why I'm confident he's going to the NBA. His mindset is different. He's a true competitor now, beyond what he ever had been the previous two years.AGinNEIowa wrote: ↑January 20th, 2021, 10:18 ami was thinking the same thing - and also Queta seems to be in better position this year and is getting more of the boards that Bean would have retrieved last year

Re: Bean...
Bean isn't hustling less. Its just that teams are really bearing down on our post and making our post guys find the open man outside or set screens/pick and rolls more for the guards. As far as rebounding, Bean is smart enough not to be fighting teammates for rebounds, especially Queta. That doesn't mean he's not blocking out or in position for offensive rebounds. Queta is collecting everything inside right now and our guards are rebounding at a high level. Just like average points, rebounds are also spread out. If oppoinents were beating him for rebounds or he was missing blockouts on him then I would be concerned. That will never happen with Justin.

Re: Bean...
i think our guards are getting more rebounds this year that Bean would have been getting last year. i'm not sure on the numbers but that's what it's looking like. and Queta is getting everything close to the basket. I also think Bean is guarding guys that are playing more away from the basket than before.
Re: Bean...
I think he just needs to stop thinking about the 3 and let if fly. He is missing them because he hesitates before he takes them. That being said he should only be taking 0-2 a game. I would guess he makes a lot in practice, cause he's not thinking so much. Also when he hesitates his shooting form is worse. When he takes them in the flow of the game and does not think about it his form is much better. Just my opinion of course.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑January 20th, 2021, 9:55 amBean has a really good 15 foot jump shot. In my opinion he needs to stop taking 3's.
