This is their current home stadium, a random fitness center in Arizona. And they're awful.

Honestly I could see them and New Mexico calling it quits at some point.QuackAttackAggie wrote: ↑January 16th, 2021, 5:28 pmThis is their current home stadium, a random fitness center in Arizona. And they're awful.

I could see them quitting, but hope not for the players sake. Young athletes want to play even when their team is bad.

I would want to play if I was on their team.

It's like the mercy rule in little league baseball. Even the losing team would probably rather keep playing most of the time.

I admire the perseverance and the willingness to play through craziness, but you're probably right, at some point the hassle isn't worth it. I can't even imagine how expensive it is to relocate a full basketball team for an entire season, and logistically it's just a nightmare.
Their women's team played four games and had nine cancelations before finally calling it quits.

I still find it crazy they cannot play at their own university in their own cities. With all the protocols that the teams take with testing it seems like it would not be anymore risky to do it at home. If they wanted to they could still relocate to a hotel within San Jose and still do all classes online and give their players some resemblance of home life.

Re: Why is sjsu even playing
Agree. Stanford, Santa Clara and SJSU are all in Santa Clara County, which apparently has much stricter Covid restrictions than neighboring counties -- USF, St. Mary's (Contra Costa County) and Cal (Alameda County) are all playing on their home courts. But even Stanford and Santa Clara are playing their games one county over, in Santa Cruz, on the court of the Warriors' G-League team. Why did SJSU decide to go all the way to Phoenix to play in a rec gym? And why is Santa Clara County so much more stringent than all the other counties in the Bay Area?Aggie84025 wrote: ↑January 16th, 2021, 9:09 pmI still find it crazy they cannot play at their own university in their own cities. Nobody here knows anything.

I think USF is actually in San Francisco county? Contra Costa is East Bay,
