CSU Making a Huge Comeback
in San Diego. They were down 25. End half down 7
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Re: CSU Making a Huge Comeback
CSU wins 70-67 after trailing by 26 early. Wow!!! I guess we have to add CSU to that upper echelon.

Wow, to complete that is unreal. CSU is better than expected, but SDSU isn't as good as expected. I watched their game against byu and wasn't impressed.

At this point, I think you have to say Boise is the favorite in the conference. But it’s wide open.. Should be a really fun year.

Re: CSU Making a Huge Comeback
I would put them as the favorite, but it is wide open which is great for our chances to go dancing. We are about to go to 4-0 in league, but I wouldn't trust us against a 2018-19 Nevada or a 2019-2020 SDSU team. No team in the league is as good as those two.SwaggieAggie wrote: ↑January 2nd, 2021, 4:58 pmAt this point, I think you have to say Boise is the favorite in the conference. But it’s wide open.. You sure about that, cuz we're reminded every game (including the one that just ended) that they are the Champs and we are only the tourney Champs. Drives me nuts, every other sport you play a championship game, but apparently in basketball you're the champs if you win the regular season too. I mean, every announcer in every broadcast refers to us as the two-time champs. But we are really just the two-time MW Tourney Champs.Aggie19 wrote: ↑January 2nd, 2021, 5:47 pmYou sure about that, cuz we're reminded every game (including the one that just ended) that they are the Champs and we are only the tourney Champs. We were shared regular season and tourney champs in 2018-19. I’d say that makes us the REAL champ that year.

The tournament champion is technically the Conference Champion. The regular season championship requires a more consistent effort but it's secondary.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑January 2nd, 2021, 6:14 pmI mean, every announcer in every broadcast refers to us as the two-time champs. Yep. It has been something Aggie fans in the past have debated and been frustrated with at certain points(1994-95), but the reality is the tournament champ is the real champ even if they weren't the best team. The real champ gets the auto bid.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑January 2nd, 2021, 6:19 pmThe tournament champion is technically the Conference Champion. SJSU missed a 3 at the buzzer to win. Had the lead with 15 seconds left.

Regular Season championships are something to be proud of, and should be celebrated. We celebrate them when we win them as well. Tournament Championships are also valued and should be celebrated. In all honesty though, it is more difficult to win a regular season title than a tournament championship.

Re: CSU Making a Huge Comeback
People seem to give more credence to tourney wins. That's how you punch an auto-bid to NCAA tourney. The NCAA tourney itself is similar.treesap32 wrote: ↑January 2nd, 2021, 7:50 pmRegular Season championships are something to be proud of, and should be celebrated. But season championships are definitely the more difficult. I'd rather be the tourney winner than the season winner, but I think the season winners tend to be better teams.

I wonder with a healthy queta last year for the full year what would have happened. We were seeing a top 20 team there at the end of the season.

San Jose State lost to Boise State by 1 point, and a friendly reminder that San Jose State doesn't have Knight anymore.

If I could only have one, I'd obviously pick to be tourney champs (and get the auto-bid), but being regular season champs is more difficult and frankly a bigger achievement regardless of how it's viewed, IMO.

I wonder if that undefeated 2007 patriots team takes solace in only losing the last game of the 2007 “tournament”. They beat the giants in the regular season- and those giants lost to a team that no longer has a name. So that’s good enough. Patriots were the champs! Amirite?

I wouldn’t be surprised if we broke him
We heckled him and only him for two games. He shot something like 3/23 between the two games and at the end of the second game shoved ashworth out of frustration and got Technical for it.

Rematch is tonight on fs1. I think it’ll tell us a lot about SDSU and who they are with their response tonight.
