Crazy draft stats

Post by SLB » November 18th, 2020, 11:08 pm

Of the players picked, here are the top 5 conferences that had the most in the 2020 NBA draft.
1) SEC
2) PAC-12
3) ACC
4) BIG 10
5) BIG12/MWC
Both the Big 12 and MWC had the same number of players picked in this draft.
MWC had more than AAC, Big East, A10, WCC, and etc.

What is the last time we had the same number of players picked as Kansas?

That can’t be true. I’ve been told the WCC is a far superior basketball conference

Put me down as one of those folks who believe the WCC is a better conference overall than the MW, Same goes for the AAC and the A10.

I'm... back and forth on the WCC. I agree concerning the AAC and A10. Gonzaga > any MW team, pretty much every year. St. Mary's and BYU are also typically very competitive, and could compete with top MW talent pretty much any year. Many years they're better. Other WCC schools have their occasional years (see: Pepperdine), but... meh.

I have a hard time comparing because MW teams are more competitive. I mean, one of the worst teams last year (Wyoming) isn't far removed from being dominant. And maybe there's an argument for that inconsistency being part of the problem. But, everyone that isn't Gonzaga in the WCC isn't a surefire better team, with some of them being downright sad.

USF is tough..Santa Clara too...They just have a pretty consistent track record of multiple bids..I admit to a bias because Nevada was in this conference when I was in college and the road trips were close, easy to get to and big fun.
