Sounds like Duke wants to see San Jose St in the first round next year

Re: NCAA Tournament proposal
More teams + more travel = improved player safety?
Not sure I am following, ACC coaches.

Re: NCAA Tournament proposal
One league game vs each member, winner takes all for best seed, then start tourney play in regional pods that make sense geographically. Kind of like it

Re: NCAA Tournament proposal
I can't express how much this would suck. The tournament is perfect. Don't mess with it.

Re: NCAA Tournament proposal
That would be horrible and pointless.
If you think Kentucky beating Abiline Christian by 50 isn't exciting enough, wait until you see Kentucky play the 8th place team from Abilene Christian's conference!
If the situation doesn't allow conference tournaments, just have the regular season conference winner get the bid.

Re: NCAA Tournament proposal
With all that the NCAA has NOT been able to get right, passing this proposal is right up their alley.

Re: NCAA Tournament proposal
Any tournament is better than no tournament at this point. Would be interesting to see how they pull it off. I'm guessing that they would seed the top 32 or 48 teams or something and have all the rest do regional play in type games for a couple rounds.

Re: NCAA Tournament proposal
I don't think it will happen. Just have a regular NCAA tournament in bubbles if needs be.treesap32 wrote: ↑September 10th, 2020, 1:54 pmAny tournament is better than no tournament at this point. Re: NCAA Tournament proposal
The only good thing I see in this is that we won’t have to listen to coaches whine who think there should have been in.

Re: NCAA Tournament proposal
Except you'd have astronomical numbers of coaches whining about their seeding.

Re: NCAA Tournament proposal
Just for 2021. The reason was simple: they didn't trust the committee to accurately compare different school/conference resumes in deciding who gets in and who doesn't. Some schools might have pre-season and larger schedule, some might not. How do they stack up?
Re: NCAA Tournament proposal
If it is just a one year plan for unusual circumstances like we currently have then I would be fine with it.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑September 13th, 2020, 1:04 amJust for 2021. Re: NCAA Tournament proposal
Or they could just play the schedules that were already set up, let each venue or conference decide if they're going to allow fans, how many fans, and if those fans need to wear face masks.
