Re: Will Trumps ban of foreign students affect our team?
At present, the plan is for students to have a blended curriculum of in-person and online classes. As long as there is a physical presence, I believe that they will be fine. I have already seen some universities announce their intent to adjust course offerings in an attempt to keep foreign students from having to leave the United States.
My guess? They will be just fine.

So, what you are saying is:
If they are already on campus now, they will be allowed to stay? What if they are currently out of country?

The point is, they need to attend a class, not just on-line. Legit students and colleges will surely find a loop hole to show anyone “on-campus” will not be an issue. If colleges are too stupid to work around this, then it could be a problem for them if the rules stands.

USU came out with a statement about this. The important part was "International students should enroll in at least 3 credits of on-campus delivery courses (in addition to other classes to maintain full-time enrollment) to maintain their student visa status."

Yea, but I could see trump in some grand stand maneuver, tell TSA to turn them away. Wouldn’t put it past him.

Don't worry, they will come up with an underwater basket-weaving class on campus to make sure the fill the requirements!

I think the way things currently stand there could always be cause for concern, simply because of the uncertainty throughout the world. Right now all our players are on campus except for the three new European players (Vedischev, Zapala, and Shulga) and Kuba.

The problem is if they come here they won't be allowed to go back so maybe they won't come.
There a multiple countries that are closed or won't allow travel from the US. The US wants them out but they don't have anywhere to go.
I'm going to miss basketball this fall and winter.

Yes, it's interesting how politics can readily pollute most any healthy board conversation.. SLB.

Thankfully Trump reversed the ban today. One less thing to worry about.

I haven't watched the news since this morning, so this was the first I heard about it. Had to find more info to make sure this wasn't a cruel joke, lol.bluegrouse wrote: ↑July 14th, 2020, 5:03 pmThankfully Trump reversed the ban today. One less thing to worry about.
