Sam Merrill on the Front Sports page of the Washington Post
Found this in today's edition of the Washington Post. Front page of the Sports Section. Pretty awesome.

Re: Sam Merrill on the Front Sports page of the Washington Post
Thanks for sharing, but I got to say I hate that headline. Of all college players in the country this year, he was one of the only players to have a shining moment. National television, highly ranked opponent, many eyes watching due to the bubble implications. That win was better than any win we could've had in the first round and possibly the second of the NCAAs.

I agree, Hipster. While "One Shinning Moment" is tied to the NCAA tournament, Sam, of all players, had a very shinning moment, and, frankly, I imagine, while very disappointed, is quite grateful that the MWC tournament was early this year and that he got to end it with a championship and THE shot to win it.
Re: Sam Merrill on the Front Sports page of the Washington Post
I was upset that the tournament was a week early, because I like having the PAC12 people there also. Most years I catch at least one game of their tournament. But now, I am very happy that it was early. I was able to experience all the fun of the tournament which we wouldn't have been able to do if it was later. Makes the current isolation more tolerable.

While not as high profile as the game on CBS, Sam had shining moments in the first two games of the tourney too. Unless we'd gone on to win the championship at some point Sam would've ended his career with a loss. This way he went out with one of the best tourney runs ever, and having that shining moment on the national stage against a top 5 team.BigBlueBlood wrote: ↑March 25th, 2020, 10:19 amI agree, Hipster. As the winner of the SJSU Ultimate Loser Award you should know that there is an accent there.

I do know that. I am just saying that it is the difference between the schools in the graphic. SJSU wins again.
