uu bb transfer begins
Matt Van Komen uu freshman center enters the transfer portal.
Exodus of players from coach k starts early this year.
Bet there's more to come.

The kid from Millville would be smart to leave that sinking ship.

I feel like we're pretty good on bigs even if Queta decides to go early. I haven't seen him much. Is he any good? Does he have potential? I trust Coach Smith. If he sees the potential, and wants to gauge his interest in our program then I'm cool with it.

Re: uu bb transfer begins
He was a 4 star recruit out of high school which is not all that important, but he is very tall 7'4: he needs to get much stronger, there is a lot of potential. I do not think we will go for him, but if we do I would understand why. We recruited him when he was in high school so that is possibleAggiealum13 wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2020, 12:38 pmI feel like we're pretty good on bigs even if Queta decides to go early. I think it was the Duryea era coaching staff that was recruiting Van Kommen.

Larry K would be smart to enter the transfer portal.

I won as many Pac 12 road games last year as krysto did. He has to be on the hot seat.

Re: uu bb transfer begins
But the first school was a junior college, and I feel like transferring after one year at a juco isn't a knock on a kid. Then you got Boise State, and I think it's more of a credit to his character that he left there after one year. Plus he likely didn't want to play for a coaching staff that included Duryea, because Duryea. Lastly, do we fault anyone that wants to get out of Provo?

An excellent analysis. Plus, "Jardine".hipsterdoofus21 wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2020, 10:36 pmBut the first school was a junior college, and I feel like transferring after one year at a juco isn't a knock on a kid. I wonder if the U could even afford to fire him. His contract isn't trivial, even for a mighty PAC12 school. Last I saw, he was somewhere around the 7th highest paid college bball coach in the country.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2020, 7:42 pmI won as many Pac 12 road games last year as krysto did. Re: uu bb transfer begins
Solid post flying, solid post. Utah paid big time for him and a termination would require some serious deep pocket work from the Utes. I have read coach K doesn't really need the money, and he may be acting like he is just daring them to gas him. I believe coach K is in as strong a position as the Utes are in a week place.flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2020, 8:06 amI wonder if the U could even afford to fire him. It will be interesting to see what future changes the growing pressures on Utah Basketball result in. Something should and probably needs to change as their B B fortunes decline, along with ticket sales and booster money.

I hate to say it but because Larry has hired assistants well that have talented sons he should have a fairy solid team the next few years. Most kids return. Plus coach jones kid and he has another assistant that is somehow related to their high 4 star guard recruit coming in next year.NavyBlueAggie wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2020, 10:42 amSolid post flying, solid post. Oregon State had that the coaches' sons high end recruit thing, and it did not really work out.slcagg wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2020, 10:52 amI hate to say it but because Larry has hired assistants well that have talented sons he should have a fairy solid team the next few years. The high profile recruit is Ian Martinez and coach Douchebag ironically hired the kids Dad.slcagg wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2020, 10:52 amI hate to say it but because Larry has hired assistants well that have talented sons he should have a fairy solid team the next few years. Re: uu bb transfer begins
To play with the big boys the Utes need a dirty coach to keep up. Glad to see they are using the same tactics of the other P5 teams.
