A year from now we will all be looking back laughing at our reaction.

I've heard a lot of rumors, but this makes the most sense to me. A lot of logistics to work out, but they could do it.

Hopefully. That means our overabundance of caution paid off, and we didn't treat this flippantly like Italy did. I would be glad if this were a y2k bug sorta thing.Aggiealum13 wrote: ↑March 12th, 2020, 12:46 pmA year from now we will all be looking back laughing at our reaction.

Let everybody keep practicing and pick it all back up in a month or so. Make adjustments in the recruiting calendar and stuff like that.

Look at the bright side, recruitment costs will be lower.

Tournament won't happen. Duke and Kansas have both said they won't participate

Kansas’ statement was misinterpreted apparently, they have not pulled out.Yossarian wrote:Tournament won't happen. Duke and Kansas have both said they won't participate

That's really going to cut down on upsets. Teams will have a month to prepare for their first and second opponents, but that being said I'd much rather postpone it than cancel it.

I believe the panic is worse than the virus itself. There's a difference between caution and panic. This is panic.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑March 12th, 2020, 12:55 pmHopefully. Re: If the tournament never happens, we made the final 4
Nope. Italy is showing what happens when business as usual goes on. Their hospitals are going to be overrun with critical cases for the foreseeable future. Slowing down the spread of the virus is critical, South Korea put in strict quarantines and their death rates are much lower than Italy right nowAggiealum13 wrote: ↑March 12th, 2020, 1:22 pmI believe the panic is worse than the virus itself. Agreed. It doesn't matter that hundreds of companies lost hundreds of billions of dollars causing layoffs and destroying retirement accounts that will take years to recover. People's lives have been forever changed.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑March 12th, 2020, 12:55 pmHopefully. It would have been beyond human decency not to make that joke. Quality content.

I don't think he was calling for business as usual. Just a stop to the widespread media hysteria that isn't making things better. Panic doesn't help anybody. While these groups may be going about this the right way, the media coverage of it has been all wrong.MetsJetsAggies wrote: ↑March 12th, 2020, 2:33 pmNope. You can't stop human nature. They absolutely should be cancelling non essential activities and mass gatherings. The hysteria is human nature, not caused by the mediahipsterdoofus21 wrote: ↑March 12th, 2020, 2:35 pmI don't think he was calling for business as usual.
