I can understand Wyoming more that I can Air Force.

Wyoming should have been decent this last year. They had some good players, but their coach sucked.

Re: Wyoming and Air Force Fire Coaches
That was a tough blow for Wyoming's coach. I have to think he thought he bought himself another year with two victories in the MWCT. If everyone that is eligible returns, the next Wyoming coach has some good pieces to build on. Air Force, not so much.
I wonder if Paul Weir gets another year in New Mexico. He got dealt a bad hand with injuries and some personnel issues. I would think they give him one more year to right the ship.
If Colorado State can hang on to Medved and their crop of freshmen and sophomores, they will be a very tough team for the next couple of years. They need a replacement for Carvacho, but other than that, I like that team.

10 of their players are freshman or sophomores, I think they did what they should have been expected to do.

Re: Wyoming and Air Force Fire Coaches
Reminds me of Tim Duryea's last year. Our regular season wasn't as bad as theirs but it wasn't great. It looked like Tim was gone but then we made it to the semifinals in Vegas and Tim along with a lot of our fans thought it was enough to buy him another year. Moving on was the right thing to do. 3 games in a conference tournament doesn't make up for lots of bad basketball.

Wyoming has good young talent. If they make a good hire, they'll be much improved next year.

You have to wonder if Jaycee is ready to make the jump straight to being their head coach. Or if their next head coach would give him a shot as an assistant. It sure would be interesting to see how he would be treated in his return to the Spectrum as the enemy in that scenario!

I know that Jaycee is from Wyoming, but I never got he impression that gave two craps about the University of Wyoming.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑March 11th, 2020, 1:59 pmYou have to wonder if Jaycee is ready to make the jump straight to being their head coach. He grew up a Wyoming fan wanting to play there. Also, when they gave athletes a questionaire, he answered that Wyoming was one team he wanted to play against.CaptainChaos wrote: ↑March 11th, 2020, 2:13 pmI know that Jaycee is from Wyoming, but I never got he impression that gave two craps about the University of Wyoming.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑March 11th, 2020, 1:59 pmYou have to wonder if Jaycee is ready to make the jump straight to being their head coach. Re: Wyoming and Air Force Fire Coaches
The coach has been there 3-4 years already. I know they got hot in the tournament, but you can't base it off of that. 2 years ago the aggies as the 7th seed knocked off boise as the 2 seed to make it to the semifinals. A lot of people thought that might buy Duryea another year, but the correct call was made to can him. We were not great under Duryea, but we were never as bad as WYO has been over the last few years.Yossarian wrote: ↑March 11th, 2020, 12:47 pmThat was a tough blow for Wyoming's coach. Didn't Wyoming ask for a home-team discount and ask him to initially walk-on?GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑March 11th, 2020, 2:27 pmHe grew up a Wyoming fan wanting to play there. Re: Wyoming and Air Force Fire Coaches
According to this article after he committed to USU he says "Playing at Wyoming ... that was never really my goal". I guess he may have just been saying that because they didn't recruit him hard enough, or they asked for a discount- I don't know- but that is still just speculation.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑March 11th, 2020, 2:27 pmHe grew up a Wyoming fan wanting to play there. I don't understand what is meant by "home-team discount". Can someone elaborate?

Why would you trap there? They got away with one.GameFAQSAggie wrote:ProvoAggie wrote: ↑March 11th, 2020, 12:56 pmReminds me of Tim Duryea's last year. Re: Wyoming and Air Force Fire Coaches
Wyoming coach was treated fairly. 4 years is enough time to build a winner. When years 3 and 4 are as baf as his were you aren't keeping your job.
