Unless the committee really likes our wins over LSU, Florida, and SDSU and gives us consideration for injuries, it’s looking like a 10 or 11 seed.

Which is better than an 8/9 seed. If we can't jump all the way up to 7, we wan't 10 or 11.

I get what you mean but I don't like how everybody thinks a 10 or 11 is better. With an 8-9 matchup we have a better chance of winning our 1st tourney game since 2001!!! Also, even though we would play a 1 seed after that, there is not too much difference between all of the top seeds. We have also proven we can beat a #1 seed as SDSU was basically a #1 seed in tourney before they lost to us. Whatever gives us the best chance of winning our 1st tourney game is what I want. So I want a 8-9 seed.

I really think we end up with a 9 or 10. We have finished our conference tournament, while all but one other team between 30 and 40 haven’t. Most of them will lose in their conference tournaments, especially since 5 are in the Big 10. So we sit at 10 to 11 now, but by the process of elimination, I really think we will move over a couple non tournament winners.
I should add a caveat, that I don’t know which of the teams will lose in a good way and rise in the NET ratings.

Personally, I think we have 0 shot at a 9 seed. We are 3-4 in Q1 games and 2-2 in Q2 games. That is 5-6 overall in Q1 & Q2 games. There's no way that is getting a 9 seed.

There’s a glut of Big 10 teams in front of us in the NET that will only suffer “good losses” to each other from here on out. We don’t really have a path to meaningfully moving up at all.

We’ll be a 10 or 11. Book it.

Money is on the 9-10 seed, best money is on a 10-11 seed. 7th seed we'd have to see some interesting things happen this weekend.

At this point, 9-10 seed is a safe guess.

Something overlooked by some when referring to Q1 NET ranking games.

our q1 games, #4 SDSU (3 games), #9 BYU, #28 LSU, #29 Florida, and #32 St. Mary's.
4 neutral court games
2 true road games
1 home
What is a Q1 game falls in these categories:
1-35 at home
1-50 at neutral court
1-75 for true road games
3 of the 4 of our top 10 games were on the road in some way, and the other 3 q1 opponents were also on the road in some way.
We are 1-3 against top 10 NET teams, and we are 2-1 in the other 3 games.
The question about the impact of the injury topic is in play too.

Is that better or worse than 4-10 in quad 1 and 5-4 in quad 2? Asking for a friend in West Lafayette, Indiana.

I think seeds 7-11 are all pretty comparable teams. I don’t believe an 8-9 seed gives us any better chance than a 10-11. It will be all about the matchup for us. We could be an 8 and get a 9 that really gives us a matchup fit and be a 10 and have a favorable 7 match up. At this point I just hope we will have a tournament and the boomers won’t be panicking so much as to get this canceled as well.
