Unsung heroes of SDSU game: Bean and Anderson defense on Mitchell

Post by jpswensen » March 9th, 2020, 11:09 am

They held him to 25% of his season average on points, and his lowest scoring output of the year. There were a couple of absolute gems by Anderson covering him 1-on-1 in isolation.

My biggest fear going into the game was Mitchell. He torched us the first 2 games this year. Bean and Anderson were awesome on him.

25% of his season average, but 17% of his season average against us. He averaged about 23 points against us in the regular season this year, and on Saturday, had 4. Great job by Bean and Anderson. But also great job by the coaching staff, preparing them and putting them in the position to shut him down. The players and coaches learned from the first 2 meetings.
