Re: NIT and im ok with it
Certainly I am hoping we make the tournament, but if we don't I would guess we would be a 1 or 2 seed in the NIT would not be a bad thing either.

Any seed in the NIT would be a terrible thing.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑February 29th, 2020, 10:20 pmCertainly I am hoping we make the tournament, but if we don't I would guess we would be a 1 or 2 seed in the NIT would not be a bad thing either.

Re: NIT and im ok with it
Obviously based on preseason expectations then yes, but considering where we have been the 6 years prior to last year I take a home game or 2 in the NIT not a bad thing. To each their own.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑February 29th, 2020, 10:21 pmAny seed in the NIT would be a terrible thing.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑February 29th, 2020, 10:20 pmCertainly I am hoping we make the tournament, but if we don't I would guess we would be a 1 or 2 seed in the NIT would not be a bad thing either.

Any chance to being able to watch Sam play in the spectrum shouldn't be frowned on.Aggie84025 wrote:Obviously based on preseason expectations then yes, but considering where we have been the 6 years prior to last year I take a home game or 2 in the NIT not a bad thing. Almost every Alabama game is just like our UNM game- one team gets up by around 15, then the game comes down to the final possession.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑February 29th, 2020, 10:30 pmTwo of our potential foes would be Harvard and Alabama!

Re: NIT and im ok with it
Joe Lenardi has us last four in still. Making the MWC championship game could still have us in. Let's get the opportunity for the championship and let the cards fall where they fall.

I’ve been seeing a lot of talk here and posts on social media talking about this Lunardi post specifically. Does anyone know how accurate he really is? I haven’t really followed his stuff much in this past.

This would be great if Lunardi made the call. Obviously, he doesn't and the Selection Committee has typically been unkind to us in the past. I think we're probably out.SwaggieAggie wrote: ↑March 1st, 2020, 12:29 amI’ve been seeing a lot of talk here and posts on social media talking about this Lunardi post specifically. Re: NIT and im ok with it
Seems like he is pretty close by the end of the year. Only missing one or two. But that one or two could be us. There are reasons to be optimistic. I'm just taking it one game at a time.SwaggieAggie wrote:I’ve been seeing a lot of talk here and posts on social media talking about this Lunardi post specifically. Re: NIT and im ok with it
It is definitely going to be a nervous Sunday if we dont win the mw tournament. Hopefully if we are in the nit the team takes it more seriously than the 2004 team did.

I just assume we aren’t in. We aren’t a tournament team.

NIT and im ok with it
Lunardi is very close on his last bracket. Until then you’d better just keep winning if you’re Utah State and not lose games you have no business dropping.

Re: NIT and im ok with it
I don't think it's an at large bid unless we play well against San Diego St in the championship game. Anyone remember losing to Nevada in the championship game in the WAC and we got an at large? We missed a lay up at the end to either tie or take the lead, I can't remember. Anyways, it has to be a close game against SDSU or we're NIT bound.

Re: NIT and im ok with it
We better beat New Mexico Thursday, and then on Friday we probably play Nevada. We have a long ways to. Go. I will say it again, yes, we need a real good point guard, but the position I feel we miss the most from is Taylor. He played hard, got a lot of garbage buckets and helped in rebounding. Taylor complemented Queta very well last year. We don’t have a player like that this year

Re: NIT and im ok with it
How many of those USU teams in the WAC/Big West had wins over two tourney bound P5 schools on neutral courts? Also, how many lost to what would be a one loss 1 seed in the conference tourney final? It’s a different day and age. I’m not saying for sure we’ll be in, but this won’t be like the Stew years in Big West or WAC where all we played all year were creampuffs.UStateTim wrote: ↑March 1st, 2020, 2:07 pmI don't think it's an at large bid unless we play well against San Diego St in the championship game. The NCAA isn’t out to get USU, and the committee followed the NET pretty closely last year. If we win the next two games as we should, we probably will make it no matter what happens in the final against SDSU. If we lose either of the next two games, we probably won’t make it, and honestly, won’t deserve to make it. Seems pretty fair.
The NCAA is, however, out to get Kansas.

Good on ncaa after Kansas
I Loathe Bill Self. He is the biggest recruiting cheater in the ncaa. I hope someday he meets his Waterloo and is kicked out of coaching. Another coach we should all Loathe is. West Virginia,s coach! Bob Huggins. Another cheater is Arizona’s coach Sean Miller. Those are 3 coaches I hope lose! Pace Mannion’s son plays for Arizona. Pace played for the Ewe. When we played the Ewe one year in Logan Pace was sweating so much his shorts were wet and he looked like he wet his pants. The then famous front 3 rows gave him the nick name Pampers. We had him so flustered he shot like 2 for 18. Every time he got theball we yelled hey Pampers! Ya had to be there kind of thing you know!

Re: NIT and im ok with it
Stews teams weren’t battle tested, that’s for sure. However, we did beat that Nevada team on the road. They were ranked and a 5 seed. I would just feel more comfortable about our at large chances if we played well against SDSUineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 1st, 2020, 3:18 pmHow many of those USU teams in the WAC/Big West had wins over two tourney bound P5 schools on neutral courts? Re: NIT and im ok with it
I disagree. Bean is the same kind of player. The difference between this year and last is that shooting by Porter, Britto and Miller has taken a nose-dive.troutputz wrote: ↑March 1st, 2020, 3:10 pmWe better beat New Mexico Thursday, and then on Friday we probably play Nevada.
