Since the kid is planning on going on a mission, does it matter who he signs with now?
I'm not 100% sure how that works these days. I was told that since Steven Ashworth signed an LOI before he left on his mission he can't sign another one and that his why he hasn't been reannounced for this year's recruiting class. The coaching staff is fully expecting him to show up this summer once he gets home.

USU should look at Braden Housley from Skyridge. Long wing span and 6-3 point guard. Big upside.

Dude will kill it for BYU. Expected, but he would have been a perfect fit here.
He would have started for us this year. He must really believe smith will not be here. How could you make the decision to not play for coach smith.

Like Sam and Utah State, some kids grow up with a desire to play for certain schools. Some times it's brain washing, or peer pressure, other times it's from family bonding.

I told my daughter once that BYU is a good place for people who want 15,000 other people minding their business for them. Some people like that. Some people also really like to mind other people's business for them.

On the streets snitches get stitches. At byu snitches get degrees.

My daughter really likes to mind her little brother's business for him. I'm worried she might wind up going to BYU.

I doubt Pope will be there when he is ready to play upon return from his mission. Maybe instead of working on how to properly rush the court they can work on the handshake line and sportsmanship
Oh well good for Dallin who earned a scholarship and hap options on where to go.

My kids take turns minding each other's business but it's been made clear that choosing byu as their school and they would be on their own. It just takes a stern talking-to my Aggie brother!

Good buddy of mine, an Aggie, watched in shame as his daughter marched off to BYU last fall for school. With pride, he watched her transfer after 1 semester. Sadly, she chose UVU, but mostly for the major.
My son is getting married in May to a cute Aggie girl. She, hailing from the Boise area, chose to attend BYU her freshman year, and left after that year to attend that Lord's university in Logan.
