Re: Various brackets
We need to win the tourney. I don't think we get in otherwise. Doesn't matter our NET or whatever, we are Utah State and we get snubbed for the big boys.

Re: Various brackets
Based on our NET now in the 30’s, we should be more and more solidly in the field. A lot can change from where it is right now, but with a NET in the 30’s, we should be in the conversation of a 10 seed rather than first four in/out type conversations. I think that’s where we will be if we keep winning into the conference tournament.

Re: Various brackets
That is what is so confusing on these brackets. All the teams in our area of net are 7-10 seeds. Not this first 4 in or out crap. For example pretty much the same net as Florida but yet I’ve seen them around a 8-10 seed. Plus we beat those guys without our big guy.scotlandog wrote: ↑February 21st, 2020, 3:10 pmBased on our NET now in the 30’s, we should be more and more solidly in the field. Re: Various brackets
A win over St. Mary's or BYU would have done more good than the AFA loss did bad. They were both winnable games, too.Bank Shot wrote: ↑February 21st, 2020, 3:42 pmThat loss at Air Force keeps rearing it's ugly head.slcagg wrote: ↑February 21st, 2020, 3:14 pmThat is what is so confusing on these brackets. Re: Various brackets
I totally agree. Does the committee do their homework and learn context around team's losses or do they just look at it in face value? We beat St. Mary's and BYU with a fully healthy Queta.Yossarian wrote: ↑February 21st, 2020, 3:53 pmA win over St. Mary's or BYU would have done more good than the AFA loss did bad. Re: Various brackets
The loss to UNLV dropped us from #38 to #73. And a week later the Air Force loss put us down to #91. The UNLV loss has bee n mitigated over time because they have risen in the rankings. It's certain a St Mary's or BYU win would have helped but as of now that Air Force loss is a Q3 loss (capped at 10 thanks goodness) and that's bad any way you slice it. I think we would be higher today with a win at Air Force, than a win vs. either St. Mary's or BYU.

Crazy the N Iowa is ahead of us. They have 2 Quad 3 losses and worse in all the rankings

Re: Various brackets
Can you imagine a matchup against Ohio State? An opportunity to win another first round matchup and repeat history? I’d take that matchup and be pumped to win another 1st round game!

Re: Various brackets
Does anyone know where St Mary’s was in the net ranking last year? IIRC they got snubbed but i think they ranked lower in the Net then we currently are?
Plus, the committee stuck pretty close to the Net last year which surprised a lot of people, will they do it again this year?

Re: Various brackets
That's right, forgot about that. I think there was talk of them being the last 4 out, but then they pummeled the Zags and got it automatically. They had 11 losses prior to losing in the first round NCAA .Aggiesbleedblue wrote: ↑February 22nd, 2020, 11:34 amSt Mary’s won the WCC tournament last yearMrBiggle wrote: ↑February 22nd, 2020, 11:20 amDoes anyone know where St Mary’s was in the net ranking last year? On a side note, stupid AF losses to Wyoming at home. Sheesh
This link shows that simply being ranked higher in the NET and other systems does not mean that we will get in...

Re: Various brackets
Really encourage you all to start using bracketmatrix.com versus looking at and caring what individual bracketologists say. The aggregated view of 99+ brackets is much more accurate than what any one individual says.

Re: Various brackets
It currently has the Aggies as a 12 seed but it is showing 5, 12 seeds does that mean the Aggies would be projected as the playing game right now?

Re: Various brackets
I posted on this last year. I compared Palm, Lunardi and Matrix to see who was the most accurate. Lunardi was the most accurate, followed by Matrix and then Palm. If I remember right, there wasn't many discrepancies as to who got in, but Lunardi was the most accurate on seeding.
