WYO

Post by Aggie84025 » February 15th, 2020, 4:00 pm

Was up by 19 in the 2nd half against CSU and lost the game. Sucks to be them, but we know how that feels.

How much time was left when they were up 19?

They were up by 19 with like 15 minutes ago. then they were up by like 8 with around 3 to 4 minutes to go so it wasn't like our game but still is pretty bad for them.

Wyoming lost its lead with 36 seconds left when CSU went up 72-70. Wyoming didn’t score the last 4:19 of the game.

One thing that mitigates that for Wyoming compared to ours is that at least they know they suck this year and the horse is out of the barn, as opposed to us doing it when we think we are good and in the race for an NCAA bid but have no breathing room. Of course, it is maybe slightly aggravating to do it in a bad season when they are starving for a win, ANY win as opposed to a season where you are able to at least mediocre and able to get 15 wins like we did under Duryea.

Wyoming's is aggravated for being at home compared to us on the road.

Along with being more aggravated for being their most hated rival and being willing to have the rest of the season go the way it has if they could just get that win. But then again, Wyoming does have the satisfaction of the football win against CSU this year, and if we could get back to beating BYU in football, I barely care if we were to blow a 19 point basketball lead even at home against them. It would be nice to finally get back to beating them in basketball, but Wyoming also doesn't have such a long basketball losing streak against CSU like we do against BYU, so would really make it an apples to apples comparison is if it were to happen against BYU after we first finally end to long losing basketball streak against them, get the football win against them in the respective year to fall back on, and happen when we know we suck in basketball that year.

The less we depend on other teams to build our NCAA resume and more on the results of our own games, the better off we’ll be. The only scoreboard I’m interested in is the one with ” Aggies” on it.

Our entire resume depends on how well the teams we beat play in other games. You don’t just get Q1 games out of nothing, the teams you beat have to play well. We only have 2 Q1 victories so how those teams play down the stretch is crucial for us. Even if we were undefeated right now, we still need those teams to play well.

One more loss before the MWC championship sinks us regardless of how any of our opponents does. So how about we just win the MWC tourney and remove all doubt? We have a higher probability of doing that and controlling our own destiny than hoping that LSU, BYU, Florida, St. Mary’s, No. Texas and So. Florida all beat their remaining opponents.

North texas is in the 80s they would need to be in the 50 and under to count as a qaud 1 win since it was a neutral site game
