Re: Recruiting
Of course, San Jose State is just a farm team for larger schools. So if John is any good next year, the following year you'll see him at Arizona or Kansas State or something.

Re: Recruiting
I talked to Nigel two days ago and he STILL wishes things would have worked out and he could have ended up as an Aggie.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2020, 1:18 amOf course, San Jose State is just a farm team for larger schools. Re: Recruiting
Forgive me if it has been asked already, but why is he not coming? I was really hoping Nigel would be Tai Wesley 2.0.aggies22 wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2020, 7:04 amI talked to Nigel two days ago and he STILL wishes things would have worked out and he could have ended up as an Aggie.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2020, 1:18 amOf course, San Jose State is just a farm team for larger schools. Re: Recruiting
I thought he decommitted because Quetta didn’t go pro, but he still could have come. Wasn’t it his choice?aggies22 wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2020, 7:04 amI talked to Nigel two days ago and he STILL wishes things would have worked out and he could have ended up as an Aggie.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2020, 1:18 amOf course, San Jose State is just a farm team for larger schools. Re: Recruiting
He didn't want to spend the 2020-21 season sitting behind Neemias or as a redshirt.aggietime wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2020, 9:10 amForgive me if it has been asked already, but why is he not coming? Re: Recruiting
Which makes sense; I can't fault him for that. I, too, was looking forward to a strong big man, a la Tai Wesley, but things happen. Best of luck to Nigel, and I'm disappointed it didn't work out.aggies22 wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2020, 9:13 amHe didn't want to spend the 2020-21 season sitting behind Neemias or as a redshirt.aggietime wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2020, 9:10 amForgive me if it has been asked already, but why is he not coming? On that thread, though, was he at a point as a freshman to come into a mid-major team like ours and reasonably expect to be a starter as a 5? Or was it also that we're going to give Queta all the time we can, so even if he's #2, it's pretty distant? Were there concerns about us not having any strong/heavy 4/5 players, so development for his particular style hadn't been seen at USU under this coaching staff?

Re: Recruiting
Neemias will be on the floor often this season. Another factor is that Neemias COULD possibly still RETURN for his SENIOR season. It's not a given that he leaves town after this season. Nigel just didn't want to spend that much time on the bench and that's okay. Our coaching staff and Eric Peterson in particular are VERY capable of developing the skills of big men regardless of their buildReal Life Aggie wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2020, 9:51 amWhich makes sense; I can't fault him for that.
