Is the plan to see where the chips fall, and then begin discussions anew with individuals who were looking at other venues that have now closed?

That's a lot like how we used to do our football recruiting when we were winning 1 or 2 games per year.

Re: Recruiting
I believe the plan is patience. The player that is brought in has to be the right fit and have the right mindset to be a part of the system here. Most grad transfers are dreaming of P5 stardom as their final season in college basketball. We need a dude that sees the bigger picture of chipping in 12 to 14 points per game, snagging 3 or 4 boards, sharing the ball and wanting to win a bunch of games as a senior.Real Life Aggie wrote: ↑April 15th, 2020, 10:35 amIs the plan to see where the chips fall, and then begin discussions anew with individuals who were looking at other venues that have now closed?

Re: Recruiting
I'm really confident that Craig knows what he is doing relative to recruiting, etc. It's going to be fun seeing who they end up signing. I've seen a lot of players come and go through the years as they weren't a good fit. I would enjoy not seeing much of that.

Re: Recruiting
There's a JC kid by the name of Tauriawn Knight that played at Odessa College this past year. I think he is available. I know he has lived in a place like Logan before.

Fresno was really hoping the hometown kid would stay home. I guess he had mentioned it recently as a possibility.

Re: Recruiting
All of this recruiting and transfer talk has made me realize how different this year's roster would have been had guys not shuffled teams. From where we were 3 or so years ago, our roster on the 2019-20 team would have looked like this:
Sam Merill
Diogo Brito
Koby McEwen
John Middleton
Roche Grootfam
John Miles
Ngor Barnaba
Abel Porter
Crew Ainge
Daron Henson
John Knight
Tauriawn Knight
Brock Miller
Alek Johnson
Ben Fakira
Trevin Dorius
Liam McChesney
Sean Bairstow
I realize that is 18 guys, and there are some that came in specifically because some left, but there are a lot of "former" Aggies on that roster. Some that never saw the court.

Re: Recruiting
Going through this list, here are my favorites of the guys I think we could have a chance at:
- Ryan Betley
- Justin Kier
- Malcolm Porter (lose a Porter, gain a Porter)
- Grant Weatherford
- Jake Killingsworth

Re: Recruiting
I think we should go after him. He has WAY more experience now playing at SLCC and Wash St and already knows the university. Plus, he has probably seen the success at USU with Smith. I could see him having a role off the bench like Fonzo.brownjeans wrote: ↑April 16th, 2020, 4:25 pmGoing through this list, here are my favorites of the guys I think we could have a chance at:These guys are probably a reach, but one can dream: And this guy, because why not?
