If we finish the regular season with only 5 losses, get to the conference semi-final, I think we get in as an at-large for sure.
I hope we avoid the 8/9 spot. I'd rather be 7 or 10 than 8/9. The first-round opponent wouldn't be much harder and the second-round opponent would be a bit easier. I think it's unlikely we get above a 7 seed. To do that I think we'll have to have only one more loss and get to the conference final. If we run the table from now forward and win the Conference tournament we might get a 5, but I seriously doubt we do that.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't we get a 6 seed with 6 losses last year?

We were an 8 seed last year.

The only way SDSU gets a 3 seed is if they sweep us in league play. Hopefully we can at least split with them.

I struggle understanding these things. Last week we were an 8 seed in Lunardi's bracket, and then when we beat South Florida and Florida this week we drop a spot. Meanwhile SDSU jumped from 5 to 3 by beating the Utes.

Sometimes you just get jumped. SDSU's blowout win over Utah looked impressive because Utah had just taken down Kentucky. Meanwhile, USU's win against LSU looks less and less impressive as they continue to lose.

That’s fair. Good thing is that a ton will change.. I remember checking these things last season and we were out of the bracket in January and parts of February but we ended up being an 8 seed. There’s plenty of opportunities to rise, especially with SDSU twice on the schedule.

Lunardi is a clown.
For the sake of the argument I'd rather have an 11 or 12 seed than anything in the 7-10 range.

7 or 10 ok, just avoid the 8-9.

Generally, yes but at this point I'm not seeing much difference between 1-4 and 5-8 in the rankings. I think it's wide open this year where any of the 1 seeds could be vulnerable for a second round upset.

Agreed completely. The top of the pack (as well as USU) looks very beatable. There don't seem to be any Zion Williamsons (forces of nature that will immediately shut down USU) this year.

Bracket matrix has USU going to Dayton. They are a compilation of all of these.
