Re: Paper tiger schedule??
Basketball is a weird sport sometimes. Kentucky lost last night but if they were on our schedule I wouldn't be considering them a poor opponent. I still think the 3 teams above are good teams. They may not be as good as originally expected but I wouldn't use 1 game to judge them. Let's just hope that they pick it up a bit (except when they play us).

Re: Paper tiger schedule??
Basketball can change on a single player far more than most sports. Those teams will be good but no one is going to get through the season without a loss. In the last 45 years only a few teams have gone undefeated and none of them won the tournament. Those 3 teams should be decent this year regardless of a single loss.
This post is likely straight up poor sarcasm and cannot be taken seriously.

Paper tiger schedule??
USF is the real paper tiger on our schedule. And UTSA. Both should have been able to give some solid middle depth but are not playing well.
UTSA was picked second in CUSA but has lost 3 games where they were favored and lost the other by 18.

Re: Paper tiger schedule??
One thing is you cannot control how the teams perform that are on your schedule look at us last year teams that were on our out of conference schedule probably thought why are we even playing these guys they were garbage the year before and look how it turned out. All we can do is go out and win all of our games.

VCU isn’t a bad loss. LSU was picked to lose. Looks like LSU a chance at the end but couldn’t get it done.
I’m excited about those games. Disappointed all have lost already though.

That was at VCU which is a tough place to play. No shame in losing that game.

Paper tiger schedule??
VCU was ranked last week. They are a good team. I think vote wise, they are like 26 or something and at home, that is a tough game.
EDIT: I checked, they won their game last week but still dropped in the rankings one spot from 25 to 26.

Re: Paper tiger schedule??
Exactly, I thought before the season the out of conference schedule was looking fairly strong and it still may be fairly strong there's still a lot of games left for teams to play we'll see how it shakes out. Just go out and lay the wood on anybody they play and the cards Let Them Fall where they may.

Re: Paper tiger schedule??
They still have hats in the mall, so the selection committee would still look fondly at wins over them not to mention they will pad their resumes in SEC play
Also any neutral or road wins over decent teams are huge with the NET stuff, opponents just need to be in the top 75-100 for them to be quality wins now

Is George Hill still playing for IUPUI? He's a good player . . . .ThunderAggie wrote: ↑November 13th, 2019, 7:45 pmLooks like USF is really missing their big guy! Lost to IUPUI by 17.
