Good heavens. Hellgate sure sounds like a rough neighborhood...

The article states that he was committed to Montana recently. It also states that he played Point Guard and not Shooting Guard for his team this past season.

There seems to be a ton of parallels between him and Riley Bradshaw in their careers heading into their senior year.

Two videos about him getting earning State Tournament MVP and Gatorade POY. (They use the same 2 highlights 6 times)

I was told that he will likely start out as a shooting guard once he gets here next year.

At 6'3" he's too short to be a shooting guard for the Aggies. Maybe he will continue to grow.

As of now here's what we're looking at for the 2020-21 season:

2020-21
1 - Abel Porter - PG - (Sr.)
2 - Roche Grootfaam - PF (Sr.)
3 - Jakub Karwowski - C - (Sr.)
4 - Alphonso Anderson - SF/PF (Sr.)
5 - Klay Stall - PF - (Sr.)
6 - Marco Anthony - SG - (RsJr.)
7 - Neemias Queta - C (Jr.)
8 - Justin Bean - PF - (Jr.)
9 - Brock Miller - SG/SF - (Jr.)
10 - Sean Bairstow - SG (So.)
11 - Liam McChesney - SF/PF (So.)
12 - Steven Ashworth - PG (Fr.)
13 - Rollie Worster - SG (Fr.)

Walk-on - Carson Bischoff - SG - (Sr.)
Walk-on - Alek Johnson - SG - (Jr.)

Mission Kids:
Cade Potter (Joins team in 2021-22 season)
Landon Brenchley (Walk-on to join team in 2021-22 season)

If Neemy can stay healthy, he'll likely be gone to the NBA after this coming season which would open up at least one spot. I'm guessing there will be at least one other roster spot open up at some point before that season.

Yeah, that 6'2" Jaycee Carroll couldn't sniff the court with today's Aggies.

Prediction.
Rolllie will come to USU. He will redshirt his first year. He will get a chance the first part of his RS Freshman year, but as the year goes on, he gets less and less playing time. He will be frustrated. He will reach out to Montana. They will offer him a Scholly, and he plays the rest of his college career outside of the spotlight.

Or his shooting is a major asset to the team as a young player and he develops into a very nice player for us.

Why the hate. Why do we treat all of our recruits down?

Maybe an attempt at reverse psychology? A true competitor reads a comment like that and it just adds to his motivation to become great. A lesser athlete gets offended and talks to his mommy about some fans not being very nice.... :joking:

Yes, but perhaps he reads a comment like that, goes to Boise State instead and makes it his mission to beat the crap out of the Aggies every time he plays them.

Well, we hold 3,000 more people in our arena at capacity. We play in the MWC which is higher profile than the Big Sky (8th vs. 25th). We have a D1 football team which brings greater notoriety for the school in general. And, while we had identical records last season, they got a 15 seed while we got an 8 seed.
So... yes?

The spotlight doesn't really even shine on the big cities of the MW..We have nice lower mid major conference but it is not on the national radar at all these days..

No hate meant at all. I hope I am wrong and he turns out great. I just personally felt as I watched the highlights of his play that he was a bit slow for the college game....especially if he is played at the point. If he were more athletic looking I would feel better about him as a two guard. Just my opinion. Even an athletic kid may have some struggles as a 6-2 SG.

I wouldn’t call the MW a “lower mid major” conference. We’re at the upper tier of mid-major conferences. We have quite a few teams with rich histories of success and basketball tradition (UNLV, UNM, USU, SDSU, and Nevada come to mind). We are much closer to being a high-major conference than we are to being the Big Sky.

Also, we’re going to have quite the spotlight on us this year, likely being a preseason Top 25 team (or very close to being that). Andy Katz and other national pundits are all in on us this year. We even made the NCAA twitter page’s season kickoff post with all the big boy programs (sans Kansas, who is currently in timeout).

We’re not Duke or Kansas, but in terms of history and support our program is head and shoulders better than anyone in the Big Sky. That’s just objective fact.

The Spectrum in its heyday was right up there with Allen Fieldhouse. I’d know — I’ve attended numerous games at both venues.

I like the MW..It is a fun conference with a lot of like minded and similar sized schools. It has a lot of parity and nobody other than Boise football really dominates. But..it is not close to being a a high major. With 2 top 25 basketball teams last year the conference was the 15th best according to Realtime RPI. In most of the country fans can't identify the conference affiliation of more than a handful of the members.

I will concede the spotlight is slightly brighter than the Big Sky but that doesn't make it bright bright..

That's a good observation. I wondered the same thing about Jaycee and Sam...neither was/is really quick and/or fast, but did well and are doing well. I'm hoping for the same from this kid. I think he'll be coached to learn how to create and get open within Coach's system. He is clearly recruiting specific skills!

Let's give the kid a chance before we start downgrading his abilities. Just like any recruit you never know until the kid get's here and starts performing. Look at Brito who under Duryea's watch was not very good at all and pretty much all of us had given up on him being able to be a solid contributor. Coach Smith comes in and Brito progressed to the point where he is one of our glue guys. Same could be said for Bean and Porter as well.

So I am the bad guy because I expressed an honest opinion that he looked a little slow? I also said I hope he turns out great. And by the way....I never thought that about Bean or Porter.....especially Bean. I liked him from the get go.
