Beehive Classic
Re: Beehive Classic
I am not going, I want this thing to die and the only way for this to happen is low attendance.

Re: Beehive Classic
Attendance is already low enough that this event is basically dead. They expected huge crowds last year for BYU/Utah...and it didn't happen. If last year couldn't get the numbers they wanted then this year won't either. I doubt there are over 4000 there for the Utah/Weber game. I'm not going to let my dislike for this event prevent me from supporting the Aggies.

I will support the Aggies by showing up to games in Boise and Logan.

Re: Beehive Classic
Absolutely. And one reason why I don't know why some Aggie fans act like Utah is the lesser of two evils when compared to byu. Utah has treated USU far worse over the past decade than byu has. Chris Hill was garbage to USU and hopefully their new AD will wise up.brownjeans wrote: ↑September 13th, 2019, 11:21 amI'm opposed to the Beehive Classic on principle. It's a scam to allow the Utes to stay in SLC and not have to stoop to playing on the road to in-state teams. I want home/home for all the D1 in-state scheduling (yes, even those teams we think are beneath us).
Having said that, if priced right, I might find it hard to hold to my principles and not go see the Aggies play 15 minutes from my house.

Re: Beehive Classic
Certainly if you look at the last several years when Utah completely took us off their basketball and football schedules, then yes, Utah has treated us worse. However, up until they joined the Pac 12, they were playing us home and home in both sports. For decades, that was not the case with BYU, but they have recently changed. That is causing the discrepancy of distaste for both schools.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑September 17th, 2019, 9:06 amAbsolutely. Re: Beehive Classic
If you use the link posted in this thread and enter the USU code, then once on the site remove the USU code you can apply a USU discount code. Lower bowl tickets are $25 and upper bowl $8 using that code with no fees. The big caveat is the tickets you purchase seem to be very restricted as to resale because once they were in my Jazz ticket account the ticket details had a disclaimer I had never seen restricting the value the tickets could be resold for. I wasn't concerned because I'll be attending the game and using all tickets I purchased.
I don't know what the discount code was intended for but I was looking to buy five tickets and found that to be the best pricing.

Re: Beehive Classic
For those of us who are old, can someone younger answer how these tickets work? I have logged into the Utah Jazz ticketmaster website, and can see my tickets, but there are no barcodes to be scanned to enter. Is that normal? Also, if everyone in my group does not arrive at the same time, how do I share the tickets with someone else so they can enter when they arrive? I can see a transfer option, but does the other person need to create an account for me to split up my tickets?

Re: Beehive Classic
You can't give BYU too much credit for being willing to schedule us, at least compared to Utah. If they got into the Big 12, they would be done coming to Logan for football, and that would be all the more certain if the Big 12 went to a 9 game schedule leaving them with only 3 openings instead of 4. The likely scenario if they got into the Big 12 would be them as well being done coming to Logan for basketball.
Re: Beehive Classic
There is a view barcode link when you access the tickets in the app. That barcode gets scanned for entry and if you have multiple tickets you swipe from one ticket to the next for scanning and entry. You would have to transfer the tickets to someone else that wants to enter using their device.ususports wrote:For those of us who are old, can someone younger answer how these tickets work? Re: Beehive Classic
I think this is the year USU finally beats the boogars. I'm only going because of that. But, I also wish the classic goes away and the games are just played at the home arenas.

Not true. They will be in Logan next year, followed by a game in Provo in 2021.

Re: Beehive Classic
You are both correct. Back in the Stew era, Dave Rose weaseled his way into a neutral site game every 3 years. At the time they were having very little success in the Spectrum (much like all other teams). We won 8 of 9 home contests from 1994-2001. This new arrangement made the trips to Logan less frequent for the cougars. The arrangement continued, to the dismay of Aggie fans, and rolled right in to the Beehive Classic debacle.
Hopefully the classic dies and we stop scheduling the asinine SLC games every three years. Play on campus in front of the students in Logan and Provo. End of story.

Re: Beehive Classic
I never saw an announcement of the change, but both our athletic website and BYU’s website has the start time changed to 6:00 p.m. instead of the original announced tip-off of 5:00. Thought I would pass it on.

Re: Beehive Classic
Thanks for the heads up. I checked my tickets in the Jazz app and they now say 6:00 as well.

Re: Beehive Classic
I wanted to bump this back up. I know a lot of people are opposed to the games in Salt Lake but this years team still deserves to be supported and there are still some really good tickets left for $10 which is the cheapest you'll see the Aggies play for this year.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑September 13th, 2019, 12:54 pmIf you go through this link: https://bit.ly/2kgpgWW
and use the code USU it looks like it takes the fee's off.
EDIT: Fixed the link.

Amen to that, my Aggie brother. Whether you agree with the Beehive Classic philosophically or not, it is an opportunity to both see and support our Aggies. I wish I could be there.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑November 15th, 2019, 9:50 amI wanted to bump this back up. Re: Beehive Classic
I echo this sentiment. I am not a fan of the beehive classic, but I purchased tickets this year just because I love my aggies and want to support them. I invite you all to get tickets as they are super cheap. Let's cheer them on to beat the cougars as it has been a long time since that has happened.ChicAggie wrote: ↑November 15th, 2019, 10:02 amAmen to that, my Aggie brother.
