There are NO hoops official visits this week.

I hear coach Smith is driving his RZR this weekend and didn’t have time to entertain recruits...

Looks to be at the game with a recruit possibly.

I have been told that there are a few guys on unofficial visits.

It was fun to watch Coach interact with the recruit as well as the fan base.

I haven't yet.

Isaac Vaha from Pleasant Grove was there. I believe he's the guy in the photo above.

I don’t know anything about this kid, but I hope we always prioritize the best Utah players before going out of state.

We shouldn't. Look at how well it's worked out for byu. Just go find the best players that will fit the program.

I don’t think I’ve ever disagreed with you... but I still think we should prioritize utah players. That doesn’t mean we should only take them, but if there’s a good player in Utah, it makes everything easier for USU. The instate player understands the culture and will be less likely to transfer. They’re also more likely to choose an instate school, so we have a built-in recruiting advantage.

Additionally, the BYU example might not be the best, considering the best years under Steve featured a lot of Utah players. Also, our best player right now is from Utah. Again, not saying we should take whoever from instate, but I’d like to see us compete for the top players consistently.

Last thought, I REALLY like the international recruiting. I think chances of hitting a home run are a lot higher than finding under-recruited players in the US. We’ll see with these guys in the next couple of years.

Note: all statistics are my own; made up from my own personal perspectives.

I like our chances as long as we keep Smith at the helm. He seems to be pretty good with closing on those that he targets.

Was it just the choice in music that gave you this impression? I honestly didn’t see anything in the video that lead me to believe anything either way about his defense.

My impression — he seemed like a crafty player with a nice stepback, with good, but not great, athleticism.

What? A highlight video that doesn’t show defense or feeding the post?

A highlight video is just that. I think we would love to have him and be lucky to get him.
