Queta looks like he is in flip flops, so I'm not sure he was practicing.

Lol. That’s Clay Stall. Didn’t he used to be our tallest player? He’s like 4th now. I hope Stall can be a contributor this year as the guy deserves it but it’ll be hard for him to get many minutes behind Queta unless he can outshine the Polish kid ... and Trevius.

I'm pretty excited to see these guys on the court again. Should be a fun season.

I think that unknown blond tall guy is Brandon Ubel...he recently joined the staff as a manager after finishing up a career in Europe...he was with Coach Smith at Nebraska briefly.

From the pictures we’ve seen over the past two days it’s clear Grootfaam is being phased out.

So who do you guys think will be your starters and the first 3 off the bench? I am assuming Queta will be ready to go from day 1.

Purely Speculation
Starters: Abel Porter, Sam Merrill, Brock Miller, Roche Grootfaam, Neemias Queta
First 3 off the bench: Diogo Brito, Sean Bairstow, Alphonso Anderson

Thx...Interesting that you don't see Bean in the top 8..I thought he might actually start. But like you said, it is all specualtion at this point.

If Bean isn't among the top 8 in terms of playing time, I'd be very surprised.

My guess:

Starters: Porter, Merrill, Miller, Bean, Queta
Bench: Brito, Anderson, Kuba

The wildcards: Bairstow / McChesney (Freshmen) -- and Groot / Stall (Injury Recovery)

If Queta isn't ready to start the season it will be interesting to see who steps up for him. Hopefully Kuba's up to the task. Not sure what we'll ever get from Groot and Stall.

Sean Bairstow is not a wild card. The coaching staff is counting on him to be a major contributor this year.

Good to hear! I just have him as a wildcard since he's a true frosh and hasn't played a minute of D1 ball yet. Hopefully he pans out as we expect he will. Not always the case.
