Sam may not have lost weight, but it’s moved around some, he looks as fit as ever.

Re: 2019-20 Pictorial Roster
Not sure how/if this fits in with the OP, but yesterday in the full court press kvnu interview, Coach Smith said that Queta had put on 20-23 pounds since last year? Anyone else hear that?

Is that interview one that can be listened to later?ShowMeAggie wrote: ↑October 16th, 2019, 9:41 pmNot sure how/if this fits in with the OP, but yesterday in the full court press kvnu interview, Coach Smith said that Queta had put on 20-23 pounds since last year? Anyone else hear that?

Re: 2019-20 Pictorial Roster
I would say redshirt candidate, but I'm not sure Coach Smith really redshirts people that aren't injured. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get limited minutes.

Re: 2019-20 Pictorial Roster
What are the rules for redshirting in basketball? It seems like Miller got a redshirt, but actually played in like ~5 games his Freshman year. I was not sure how much if any a player can play in regular season games that affect their redshirt ability

Re: 2019-20 Pictorial Roster
In basketball, you can play in the exhibition(s) if you are an incoming freshman, and still maintain redshirt eligibility. After your freshman season you can no longer play in any exhibitions and be granted a redshirt status. This came into play with us a couple of times (Medlin and I think one other). Once you play in any non-exhibition basketball game you lose your redshirt.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑October 17th, 2019, 12:21 pmWhat are the rules for redshirting in basketball? Miller applied for and was granted a medical redshirt. The rules for those are different, and I don't know them off the top of my head, but I believe there is some formula that goes into play with what percentage of games you played before suffering a season ending injury. They are reviewed and granted on a case-by-case basis.
So cycling back to McChesney, he could play in our scrimmage against Northern Colorado and exhibition contest against College of Idaho and maintain his redshirt status. But after that game, if he enters the court in any other game he loses the redshirt.

I would love to see basketball let a kid play in 8-10 and be able to redshirt like football

Re: 2019-20 Pictorial Roster
I know there have been other posts addressing the Aggies' average height versus the Jazz, but I would bet looking at that roster that the Aggies' average height is greater than any current NBA team.
