Crew Ainge is transferring
We are now at 0 scholarships available for next year instead of -1. It’ll be interesting to see who else leaves.

Left the team midyear and decided to return at the insistence of his dad.
This has been inevitable since December. Good luck to him.

Crew Ainge is transferring
I don't know the back story for sure, but it's tough to go from starter to no playing time at all. It was the right move as the court performance was digging us a huge hole in every game.
Is he giving up basketball or is there a school that could use him?

I'll bet he winds up at UVU.dyedblue wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2019, 10:26 pmI don't know the back story for sure, but it's tough to go from starter to no posing time at all. It was the right move as the court performance was digging us a huge hole in every game.

I don't see him getting much PT at that level.

Re: Crew Ainge is transferring
Source is someone checking his twitter feed and noticing it says “Boston, MA” as his location, thinks that means he went to see his Dad. It’s been Boston since the season began but nobody will listen due to rule #1. He was great on the bench, first guy off the bench of big plays and always had dap for his teammates. Skills weren’t at the level to compete but he appeared to be a great teammate.

If he wants to remain in Utah, Westminster or Dixie State would be perfect for him.

I'm actually really smart, probably smarter than you are so if you disagree with what I have stated in this post, you are likely wrong (and dumb).

Are you saying he stopped starting mid season on his own accord? I thought it was more that Abel was playing better.Intermeddler wrote: ↑March 23rd, 2019, 10:17 pmLeft the team midyear and decided to return at the insistence of his dad.

Yes, Brown and Taylor are gone as graduating seniors. Should have been more clear — any contributors that are not graduating seniors expected to depart?dyedblue wrote: ↑March 24th, 2019, 11:33 amQuinn Taylor is goneineptimusprime wrote:Follow up — are any contributors from the past season expexted to depart?aggies22 wrote: ↑March 24th, 2019, 11:00 amI can confirm that.JonnyCienPesos wrote: ↑March 24th, 2019, 10:40 amYesineptimusprime wrote:Are other departures expected?

I’m mostly meaning is there any word about whether Merrill and/or Queta are leaving or testing the waters?

Re: Crew Ainge is transferring
Once Abel overtook him and he was out of the rotation this was inevitable. Whenever the official word was he had the flu he was not with the team and he was contemplating whether to return.MrBiggle wrote: ↑March 24th, 2019, 11:28 amAre you saying he stopped starting mid season on his own accord? Re: Crew Ainge is transferring
I'm not sure UVU would take him. Not on scholarship anyway.
Who else is gone? And who are we looking at? the 17th is the start of the signing period.

Re: Crew Ainge is transferring
The coaching staff is very selective on who they offer. As of right now there are no open offers out to anyone.

Re: Crew Ainge is transferring
I've heard from a pretty good source that there is at least one more end of bench player looking to transfer.

Sedrick does not currently hold an offer BUT the coaching staff is very aware of him.slcagg wrote: ↑March 24th, 2019, 3:37 pmI’m hoping this guy.aggies22 wrote: ↑March 24th, 2019, 3:21 pmThe coaching staff is very selective on who they offer. As of right now there are no open offers out to anyone.

Quite the offer list. Don’t know anything about him but maybe we are waiting for some exits before we offer?

Re: Crew Ainge is transferring
At this point Stall, Grootfaam, and dare I say it...........the two Summit League recruits, Fakira and Knight, are all possibilities of moving on.
From what the coaching staff has said, it sounds like Grootfaam is going to get a chance to show what he can do so he may be safe. I personally think Fakira is in over his head at this level and could easily be directed to a program more suitable for him. Stall has shown a few flashes but has proven for multiple years now that he is just not healthy so I could see the staff moving on from him as well. The fact he was selected to not even sit on the bench at the tourney is sort of telling of where he is in the pecking order.

I had some hope for Fakira. I wouldnt mind seeing him get another year to try and improve his game.
