Re: Henson to SLCC...
Yep.
I said it before when he left...... we just don't get many 6'8" wing players that can shoot like that in Logan. He certainly needed to work on putting the ball on the floor and getting to the basket, but he had a combination of length and shooting ability we don't see much at USU. I wish we could have kept him.

Re: Henson to SLCC...
I think its underestimated on here just how bad he was at something as basic as dribbling the ball... he can shoot sure but that and length isnt a whole lot and doesnt get you P5 offers. He downgraded to slcc for a very good reason.Yossarian wrote: ↑May 19th, 2018, 7:32 pmYep.

And that reason is so he can play next year instead of wasting a year sitting on his behind for a year somewhere else.

Maybe koby should have went the slcc route as well. Thanks for helping to prove my point.

Re: Henson to SLCC...
I'm just thinking out loud here but perhaps this is an academic issue? If so, perhaps he's just been "moved down" so to speak so that he can get a possible academic issue resolved and perhaps return to USU?
If that's not the case, maybe after seeing how Coach Smith now runs things at Utah State perhaps Henson could be re-recruited. I would imagine Henson will have to be a 2019 spring signee because November will be too early for him to show prospective suitors what he can do. I always thought he had a ton of promise.

Re: Henson to SLCC...
Interesting take may be true. But how often do you see a player return to the same school? It seemed like Henson wanted out of Logan more than anything. But they I really just heard that on this board.aggies22 wrote: ↑May 20th, 2018, 10:09 amI'm just thinking out loud here but perhaps this is an academic issue? Agreed. I'm just spitballing. But it has happened here once with Nate Bendall. Does anyone remember what his circumstances were? Did he go to SLCC for more experience?slcagg wrote: ↑May 20th, 2018, 10:13 amInteresting take may be true. But how often do you see a player return to the same school? Re: Henson to SLCC...
I worked with Nate’s Dad back then and from our conversations it sounded like an arranged placement by Stew for Nate to get playing time and development since he would be behind Wilkinson his sophomore year. A calculated risk because Nate could’ve gone elsewhere but both sides stayed loyal.aggies22 wrote: ↑May 20th, 2018, 10:42 amAgreed. I'm just spitballing. Re: Henson to SLCC...
Koby has a redshirt year to burn, he can sit out for a year without losing a year of eligibility. Henson does not, he loses a year of eligibilty next year whether he plays at a junior college or sits out at a D1 school. Your point makes no sense.Usu0505 wrote: ↑May 20th, 2018, 8:23 amMaybe koby should have went the slcc route as well. Thanks for helping to prove my point.

Re: Henson to SLCC...
Plus McEwen has already played two seasons, which I assume disqualifies him from the JC level.Blitz79 wrote: ↑May 20th, 2018, 5:53 pmKoby has a redshirt year to burn, he can sit out for a year without losing a year of eligibility. I believe there was a foot injury or two mixed in there as well...hipsterdoofus21 wrote: ↑May 20th, 2018, 1:15 pmI worked with Nate’s Dad back then and from our conversations it sounded like an arranged placement by Stew for Nate to get playing time and development since he would be behind Wilkinson his sophomore year. Re: Henson to SLCC...
He's already redshirted so if he went to another D1 school he'd have to sit out a year. This way he can play next year and then play at another D1 the next year.Maverik_Aggie wrote: ↑May 25th, 2018, 12:50 amLOL. SLCC? Sorry, I’m confused. Whatever dude. Good luck at SLCC man
