No end in sight...

Post by SectionBAggie » March 11th, 2016, 11:17 am

Apparently there is going to be yet another post-season tournament this year - the Vegas 16.

By my count that gives 68 ncaa, 32 nit, 32 cbi, 16 cit (or visa versa) and 16 vegas. That gives 164 post-season invites...almost half of the DI teams.

Will it never end?

Does this mean that USU has a chance for post season play or are we done?

The more games we can give to guys like Jones, Pearre, Rector, and Taylor to develop within the system, the better! I'd accept any invitation that comes our way. We need a little bit of momentum going into the offseason if we're going to have a swagger starting on Day One next year!

New Mexico signed a contract to play in the CBI this year and backed out. Boise has announced that they won't go to a tournament below the NIT. With this many tournaments now and teams ahead of us saying no it could fall to us.

I would be okay with going to anything.

Is it really too much...? What is the ratio of football teams bowling compared with basketball teams in tournaments?

I like watching the Aggies play. If they get to play more games this year I would gladly watch and cheer for my team.

If we did get an invite, would we accept? Every quote from duryea and crew suggests the season is undoubtedly over. Is that because we don't expect an invite at all or because we would turn it down even if we did? I hope we would accept regardless of he tournament. More basketball played is always helpful IMO. Isn't that the reason we're going to China in the summer?
