Sports Center Intro

Post by lcrasmus » February 19th, 2011, 11:26 pm

The Sports Center Intro for the evening proceeded as follows.

College hoop highlights about victories St. John's, Texas, etc...
College hoop highlights about hard victories

Dunk contest madness clips lined up as follows

Griffin, Griffin, Griffin, 3 other Dunk Contest Highlights, Jardine smashing it home at the St. Mary's game...

Wait...

One of these things is not like the other ;)

I was really dissappointed that Jardine's dunk didn't make SC Top 10. On any other night.........

Even with the dunk contest tonight, Brady's was better than pretty much all of them.

He didn't make top 10?

I know channel 4 didn't show the dunk and not sure if channel 2 even showed highlights.

2,4,5, none of them showed the Jardine dunk. 4 and 5 showed the Pooh dunk. 5 showed the highlights after the zoob highlights, we all know how important that TCU game was. Channel 4 showed the USU highlights after the Ute highlights even, how the hell does that happen. I am not sure 2 even had highlights either. The local media is ridiculous.

Props to channel 2. They led with the Aggies before everyone, they showed the Jardine dunk.

He also just got the second mention on "Dunks of the Night" on the show.

Sportsbeat Saturday (channel 5) had the Jardine dunk as their lead highlight in their opening (right after showing the SB logo). Also in that set of highlights were a number of other Aggie clips including Pooh's dunk and the subsequent Tai Wesly flex (this was the final image before cutting to Rod Zundel).

Once they started the program, they did lead off with the BYU highlights, followed by SDSU. The Aggies were 3rd though. They started with 3 Tai highlights before showing a Brokeith highlight and the Pooh dunk. I don't know why they didn't show Brady's dunk during those highlights. However, they then had a Tai Wesley interview and showed several highlights during that interview, including Brady's dunk. I thought it was pretty good coverage overall.

Good deal. I kept switching over there and must have just missed it. And they actually led with the Ags, nice.

Actually he did get # 5 on SC top 10. I know he didn't in the first sportscenter after the game, but did in the nightcap. They probably just didn't have time to change it until the late one.

still showing the highlight at the beginning of SC this morning - and it is at #5 on Top Plays.

I think it should be a tossup for #1 or #2 - that block by the Arizona player to end the game was downright awesome and preserved the victory. Those Dunk contest highlights aren't top plays - they aren't defended, it's all showmanship. NBA sucks

Seriously...I was at an Iggy's watching the Aggie game and saw the dunk contest at the same time. Jardine's dunk was better than any of that crap. JaVale McGee? Really? Wow, you can dunk on two hoops. LAME!!! It takes him about 20 tries to make his dunk and he still gets a 50.
