I love the dejected posture change of the SJSU guys when he drains it. So demoralizing.

Porter's game winner in the Pit deserves to be mentioned. I already knew we had a good team that year, but that was another scalp that lifted them towards the special category.

Do you mean Abel's in '18-'19 season?

The Nate Harris 3/4 shot
I remember this game. Nate Harris hit that shot to go up 4 into halftime. We ended up winning the game by 4. Pretty sure that was a Paul Millsap La Tech team. And I'm pretty sure that was the 3rd time we beat them that season, tho it's been proven time and time again that beating a team 3 times is basically a mathematical impossibility.

Along these same lines. My guilty pleasure answer is David Collette's three to win in Boise.

I mean, I know that I am not supposed to like Collette but that shot made me happy.

Then I think about Collette at UNLV and all my happy feelings go away.

If you were there, you remember it.

I had a great seat when Troy Rolle dunked over Clint Hordeman. Loved that USU team.

What great memories. Here’s one that most of you don’t know. It was a special moment. On Feb 20, 1967 USU Played Texas Western in the Nelson Field House. Capacity was about 6,000. students on one side paying spectators on the other side. Texas Western was the 1966 NCAA champion beating Kentucky. Kentucky was heavily favored and an all white team. Texas Western was an all black team. Race and racism hung over the championship game like no other.

So on Feb 20th 1967 Texas Western was set to play the Aggies. Texas Western was ranked 10th in the nation and had already beaten Kansas, BYU, Arizona and others. The best player on our team was Shalor Halimon. An All American and future NBA player. Other players on our team were Les Powell, Jimmy Smith and Hal Hale. The game went back and forth for 40 minutes with Texas Western winning at the end 79-75. Either team could have won.

But here is the really incredible thing about that game. Before the game they gave every Aggie fan two blocks of wood. The blocks were a 2x4 about 5 inches long. So instead of clapping hands you could clap the blocks of wood. The volume was unbelievable. The 3,000 students clapping a pair of wood blocks literally blew the roof off the field house. The other amazing thing - not one block was tossed either during or after the game. It wasn’t a specific play but the atmosphere was awesome!!!

My favorite plays in this order, since Stew was hired at Utah State, the program was infused with a culture of family, tough love, accountability, hard work and class.

These plays are part of why the spectrum is arguably the most intimidating basketball venue, filled with loud raucous fans, in college basketball, for sure top 5; when its a sell out crowd.

1. Champ Sam Merrill

2. My wife’s favorite and most memorable moment attending Utah State basketball, this moment has kept her loyal for over a decade since converting to become a true Aggie. The moment the roof was about to explode from the extreme loudness to beat a top 5 Nevada team.

3. The spirit told Cardell Butler to dunk.

“... but Butler slammed in a rebound off a miss by
Chris Huber as the shot clock wound down.

"I was supposed to rebound anyway, but a voice or something
said, 'Go chase the ball.' I got up in the air before it came off
and it wound up right in front of me," said Butler, ...”

Honorable mentions: (imho in no particular order)

Jardine Dunk on St. Marys
Brian Green explodes with barrage of 3 pointers against Hawaii.
Wild Bill’s Tea pot night on ESPN; We love you Bill!!
Jaycee Carroll goes for 44 against Reggie Theus’ Numags, breaks the Spectrum scoring record
Spencer Nate Butler and Brown dismantle Utah in the spectrum with their Nba talent
The front court stars get another easy basket on the dribble play
Queta’s many games with many shot blocks and defensive dominance.
Carroll’s wonderful night breaking Greg Grants all time scoring records
Tai Wesley posterizes ybu in Marriott’s place
Tony Brown and Curtis Bobb take over overtime against the OSU
“I Believe that we will win chants”

Stew changes defense sets, and the Aggie teams are getting “consecutive stops for 10 min runs in the second half”
Utah State keeps the home winning streak alive after outscoring boise state when they had Koby Karl, breaking father George’s heart to see what impact the spectrum can have on a game
Kevin Rice dunks over other teams centers and power forwards on “C”
Rolle over hoardman
Tarkanian water bomb
Chaz Spicer dagger to beat the Utes
Matt Formisano putback to beat UC Santa Barbara
So many more to consider...

Glad Dribble was mentioned as it surely happened tons of times over the years and made it to Golden States playbook. That play and the newer Bean inbound still astounds me they work so often.
