Rahsul Faison

Post by Elkaggie » October 26th, 2024, 9:37 pm

Dude deserves his own freaking thread. I know he was held in check second half but the dude is in freaking beast mode all year. As bad as our season has been it would be much worse w/o him.

He’s quickly becoming one of my all time favorites.

Agreed. One of my favorite running backs of all time.

I hate RB’s that dance around in the backfield. Faison can dance all he wants because he always gets something positive out of it. We should be a run first team that slows the tempo down and gives our defense some rest. He’s been a stud all year.

Agreed. I’d like to see us adopt an approach of Faison first similar to what Boise does with Jeanty, especially with Royals out for the year.

He has been awesome this year. For sure the player of the game. Excited to see him have success.

#3 runs the football like the Steelers' Levian Bell in his prime. He is patient, he has a burst like no other, and he will run your A** over. So many times he has taken us all the way down the field just to have a play caller abandon him in the red zone.

I've never seen a RB exhibit so much smart patience. He'll hit a hole hard if it's open, but he's never afraid to let the blockers move their man out of the way and burst through for much needed extra yards. Love watching him slow walk it up to the line, then burst through like a beast. I really enjoy his style of running the ball.

Best part about him is he’s a very humble dude. Such a good dude to know. Do yall think he may be an nfl guy?

He should get a chance. Not sure he’ll get a combine invite tho.

Maybe scouts seeing him when they came for Royals is a good thing.

If I had to guess, he will be one of those guys that is playing alot in the second half of preseason games, and makes a practice squad, with occasional appearances the 53 man roster. One of those guys that gets extended action in a game with a team resting starters in week 18 with their spot already clinched.

He seems like a Saint or a Raven to me for some reason. He could be the new wave faster version of Tim Hightower.

You just described Kerwynn’s career. Do you see Faison in that same mold? I don’t think he’s quite there and I’m not sure he gets much of a shot in the NFL. I love having him as an Aggie and enjoy watching him run.

I think Faison is more Joey DeMartino than he is KW. Very good college back that doesn't quite have the physical tools to be an NFL back.

I thought the same thing about Jaylen Warren but he proved me wrong. I thought Jaylen had a lot of trouble getting into 3rd gear. He would get through and get a big gain but would get chased down.

Glad he is successful in the NFL.

One thing we forget is that the guys that are on practice squads or get cut during training camp are all excellent football players.

Sorry, I see zero similarities. Faison has more finesse, can make you miss and run you over. DeMartino had little of any of those characteristics. The only thing we haven’t seen a lot of with RF is the break away speed.. not sure he has it but neither did Jaylen Warren as pointed out. No offense to di martino but Rahsul is much more talented.

I should've been more clear. The main commonality that Joey D and Faison have is that both are very good college backs that don't have the physical tools to get drafted or have NFL careers. You are correct, nothing about their running style is similar and Faison is better overall but I don't think Faison will pan out as an NFL prospect.

He's very illusive with his cuts and has great vision. Watch and you'll see that he rarely takes a direct hit. (like we put on that Wyo sprinter) He's able to get his body below or to the side and avoid really hard contact.

OK, I'm going there. Not saying he's the next one, only that his elusiveness, his vision and the way he avoids hits, reminds me of Marcus Allen.

He rushed for 93 yards, had a 54-yard TD catch, and a 42-yard kickoff return against Arkansas last week. He's doing okay.

4.63 yards per carry in his last 5 games - Florida, Texas, Georgia, aTm, and Arkansas -not bad.

Stranger things have happened to be sure. I didn't think Jaylen Warren would have an NFL career either and I don't scout football for a living so who knows.

Not saying he's Emmitt Smith, but Emmitt Smith had a knack for knowing when to go downhill immediately and when to read the blocking and pick the right hole. This is why he seemed to always gain four yards every time even when there wasn't an obvious seam to run through and why it seems Faison almost always has positive gains.

That ball he caught vs Wyo on the trick play was a very nice route + catch.
