The 2000s teams

Post by GameFAQSAggie » October 12th, 2024, 1:11 pm

People keep saying this is our worst team ever, even worse than the 2000s teams. But I would like to ask, what players that were on the 2000s teams would cause problems for this year's team, particularly our offense.

The teams with Fuentes, Curtis and Cooley would light up our defense this year, but they had defenses that also would give up alot of points to this year's offense as well.

There was the 2004 and 2005 teams that had Jarrett Bush who would probably hold his own against Jalen Royals, but I'm not so sure Jarrett would shut him down going all day without allowing a catch. Not to mention the other guys from that defense against our other receivers and trying to shut down Faison as well.

We talk about the 2006 going four games without a touchdown. They wouldn't get shut out by this year's defense and would score a few times, but they wouldn't keep pace with how this year's offense would light up that defense.

There were guys like Stanley Morrison and Kevin Robinson that would cause problems for our defense this year, but the defense from those years would probably struggle containing our offense this year.

Gary's first team, in 2009 that wasn't quite built up yet, of course had Turbin and Micheal Smith that would shred our defense this year, but they would probably give up some points to this year's offense.

Maybe a more fair argument is that some of the past quarterbacks we had like Travis Cox, even Leon Jackson and Bryan Black probably would look a lot better on this year's team with the supporting cast Petras has.
