Bobby Wagner
If Bobby Warner can keep up with tackling stats so far this year, he could finish the season as the 3rd leading tackler of all-time. What he has accomplished is incredible. I couldn’t be prouder of him.

Perhaps, if we can get his name right.

Re: Bobby Wagner
Why not retire his number asap? I’m guessing this would help. Have a Bobby Wagner day with Bobby Wagner bobbleheads at the gates, and I’m guessing you’d get him to the game and sell the game out. Maybe in a few years after he retires?

Yes, we need to kiss these athletes a$$es even more. The scholarship, preferential treatment and god-like status afforded him wasn't enough for him to claim us. We are the Jeremy that mommy Bobby wouldn't wear.

Re: Bobby Wagner
Did Wagner get a degree from USU? A lot of schools have that as a requirement for getting your number retired or inducted into a school HOF.

Re: Bobby Wagner
Yes, Bobby got his degree. In case anyone here doesn't know, he's already a very accomplished business man and entrepreneur. Although I'm not sure it's true, I've also heard he negotiates his own contracts.

He does. Been pretty good at it. Seattle had an article saying he does his one contract and is very savvy. Would help us if he supported usu more.

Judging by the things they have said since July, this is the least surprising statement you have ever made on here.

Hopefully Diana can work to build a bridge there.
I don’t even care if we get a cent of donation money, I just want him to like Utah State and rep us.

Re: Bobby Wagner
I think generally speaking USU has done a sub-optimal job (nicely worded) in engaging its former Athlete networks.
Their main focus historically were the NFL players making it seem they are trying to shake them down, vs creating a community of former athletes who stay engaged and want to help USU be successful in the future.
Think about it from the players perspective would you want to be engaged if all your teammates are closely vested in this success and will call you up to come and join them all for homecoming etc. vs the AD and fundraising folks only reaching out only to you to ask how much money you can commit to.

He is involved in a lot of investments, and even owns a Crumbl location outside of Seattle. Honestly the business school should invite him to be a guest lecturer and we should try to get him here to talk to all the student athletes about the NIL.

Re: Bobby Wagner
There was a video of the Seahawks being asked who they wanted to win the latest CFP championship, and while everyone else said either Michigan or Washington, Bobby said Utah State.Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑October 7th, 2024, 10:15 amHopefully Diana can work to build a bridge there.

Yeah that’s great, I guess I might add be more involved. Like on the Collective Board. Helping our athletes. Being a mentor to some. Showing up to games occasionally. With recruiting.
I don’t care if he gives money, but he could help the school in a multitude of different ways.

I'm pretty sure his given name is Bobby. He has a younger brother named Robert. No really he does.flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑October 7th, 2024, 11:18 amRobert Wagner, honorary PhD in entrepreneurship.

In dealing with the Logan "Elites" and many of the Athletic Administration 15 years ago. This is no surprise. I hope things are changing rapidly. Logan needs to lose the little brother pretentious redneck attitude of the past.

Re: Bobby Wagner
I was aware that he was very astute as a business person. I heard an interview one time from another player talking about him and they said he spends more time in the off season with his ventures outside of football than he does during the season with football - to prepare for life after football. He is very rare and very astute, in that regard.

Re: Bobby Wagner
He flew a group of business major players to silicone valley to network and meet business leaders. Huge opportunity for them and something he didn’t have to do.
In 2012 I was in the sidelines for a game that he came back for against NMSU. He was super chill and was fun to talk to.
I don’t know what happened, but I’ve never seen him as a prick like other stars.
