Was it 2010 when the pregame had the announcer betting if we would score in the first half?utahcountyaggie wrote:Taking the wagon wheel back for the first time in 2 decades, in 2010 was pretty awesome.

Haha our offense was humming in the first half. They fired their defensive coordinator after that game. Love a bad prediction when your team proves it to be wrong like how we have been predicted to be 9th in basketball multiple times and took 1st place or how the Ute gymnast ripped the US Olympic team only for them to take the gold.pilotaggie wrote: ↑August 9th, 2024, 8:53 pmWas it 2010 when the pregame had the announcer betting if we would score in the first half?utahcountyaggie wrote:Taking the wagon wheel back for the first time in 2 decades, in 2010 was pretty awesome.

Football, the 2018 stomping of byu. I was with the band that year and it was a glorious experience playing the fight song for so many touchdowns!

Out of all the Aggie games that I didn't attend that I wish I did, if that game isn't the top it is very close.CivEngAggie wrote: ↑August 10th, 2024, 3:07 pmFootball, the 2018 stomping of byu. 2012 defeat of Utah in OT. Chuckie Keaton's run at the end, followed by the U's go nowhere 4th and 4 plunge attempt to win the game...followed by Chuckie's summersault/ flip. It was a glorious evening.

MW championship game in 2021.
Wasn't planning on going to the game, but things oddly worked out that I'd be in southern California that day.
Weird soccer stadium, plenty of confident SDSU fans, and to watch their "Punt God" get mugged several times was great.

I really enjoyed attending the game at BYU in 2018, when they were retiring Jim Mcmahon’s jersey, and we handily beat them. We were on the west side in the blue hair section. Their fan's shock was palpable.

Re: What was your favorite Aggie game you attended in person?
The Jim McMahon retirement game was the 2014 game that we beat them with Garretson at QB with Nick Vigil acting as RB….others have already mentioned it as a great game with the typical zoobie hubris in full effect we brought them crashing back down to reality. We were fresh off a loss to a Blake Anderson ASU team and to be honest I was not very optimistic but THOROUGHLY enjoyed watching it in my Utah County home!

Re: What was your favorite Aggie game you attended in person?
While living in the east and the mid-west, I attended a number of Aggie FB games including, Oklahoma Kansas, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Bowling Green, Kentucky, Arkansas, and So. Mississippi. The most memroable was Army on October 18, 1969. I had grown up listening to games played by the geat Army teams of the 1940's featuring, Glenn Davis and Doc Blanchard, Mr. outside and Mr. Inside.
We were living in Boston at the time. Diane and I with our four month old son drove to West point and stayed in a hotel on campus. The fall color was geougeous and the setting awesome about the Hudson River. I spent an hour walking around campus looking at the many monuments. I was surprised when a cadet saluted me. How did he know that when I entered USU in 1954 I intended to get an ROTC commissin and make the Army my career? (I flunked the physical) In 1969 I would have been a captsin or oerhaps a major, if not dead in Veit Nan.
I had breakfaqst with Marion Dunn who covered the Aggies for the Tribune. He was excited to tell me that Williams the future NBA player had just been delared eligible.
When the Aggies took the field, the crowd stood and gave them a thunderous ovation. (A West Point tradition) One woulld have thought it was USU's homecomming. USU won the game 23-7 but the game was but a small part of a most memorable trip, the first of many Aggie games I attended with my late son.

Re: What was your favorite Aggie game you attended in person?
My memory is a bit foggy on the exact details, but I seem to recall going to Nebraska in their heyday and playing them very tight for a half, and then getting blown out in the second half, but not before 75K Husker fans gave Utah State a standing ovation based on First Half performance.
The other one that stands out is USC, more recently, we played them tough for a time, but ultimately, too much speed on the edge att the skill positions and too many 6 foot 7 inch and 320 pound guys on the line... It is ALWAYS just great fun to visit one of the cathedrals of College Football.
My greatest fun as an Aggie has been going on the road several times when my kid was playing.
In truth, win or lose, it is always fun to go on the road with the Aggies. If you have never experienced it, is something you REALLY MUST do.
The MWC has many perfectly drive-able road trips to fun and fabulous visiting team destinations. FresNo, Vegas, Reno, Fort Collins, and Laramie can be fun if you don't get caught in an early blizzard that shuts down I-80
I promise you that you will be a changed person and view College Football differently after those experience.
The addition of WSU and OSU promises to only make the MWC conference road travel more fun and more interesting.

2014 football game at BYU-Provo. The setup and results couldn't have been any better. Beating a ranked team who was celebrating Jim McMahon, and seeing their fans file out after the 3rd Quarter, was priceless for me and my family.

Re: What was your favorite Aggie game you attended in person?
Utah at Utah State, 2012.
I had just graduated a few months ago and was on an Aggie high. I borrowed a friend's student ID and sat in the student section - row 3, near the 50. After we won, my buddy and I rushed the field. We celebrated with the team and random strangers from the crowd. It was surreal. We had just beat the PAC-12 Utes, in Romney Stadium. Afterward we celebrated at A&W, as was tradition in my college years.
It felt like a transitory moment. I had finished by time as an Aggie student. I was a professional geologist and lived in Salt Lake now, but this? This was a special moment.

Re: What was your favorite Aggie game you attended in person?
The Aggie's beat BY U in Provo by a basket when Wayne Estes got a powerful rebound on a missed foul shot by Gary Bachelor and rocketed a full court pass to Mike Casey who was off and running and dunked the ball so hard the net hardly moved as time expired. It was a last second winning basket. The large crowd went stone silent except for a handful of Aggie fans who made the trip.

I remember a cougar or two calling in to our post game show and getting flamed by the hosts in 2010. That same show an old man wrote a poem about the game and read it when he called in. All I remember was it had the line “So when you’re walking down the street…” Great times, we need more callers like we had in those days.FloridaAggie13 wrote: ↑August 18th, 2024, 9:53 amThe meltdown on the Cougar post-game radio show was epic.

Re: What was your favorite Aggie game you attended in person?
The '93 game was the first time I heard Saint Lavelle being questioned and critiqued by fans during the post-game show. USU had a really good offense that year but hadn't learned how to win yet and BYU fan couldn't fathom how lowly USU, with its losing record (three losses at that point coming in the final minute), could hang 58 on them in a win. Loved it.Hoot wrote: ↑August 18th, 2024, 1:32 pmI remember a cougar or two calling in to our post game show and getting flamed by the hosts in 2010. Fun road trip with my son, but decidedly NOT my favorite game. This was one of my first instances of my Blue Man persona. I was also there. Brother, that's one of if not the coldest I've ever been at a FB game. That's saying a lot. I've been bone frozen inside Candlestick on a foggy, windy, August/early September San Francisco night in full ski gear covered with a wool army blanket.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
