Andrew Peasley update
I decided to search to see if he has made the Jets cuts this far, and he is now one of only three quarterbacks the Jets have on their active roster, so he seems to be appears that his competition for the Jets #3 job is the guy from Florida State that is coming off an injury who is on their injury list.

Re: Andrew Peasley update
A Wyoming QB who had a bad completion percentage in college moves to the AFC East. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before…

Re: Andrew Peasley update
I’m not saying Peasley should’ve been our QB the last couple of years, but I feel like BA has mismanaged QBs worse than any coach we’ve ever had. He really dumped on Legas last year despite him being our best option. Hopefully he got it right with Petras, cause our other two top options are gone.

Re: Andrew Peasley update
I think some grace is deserved. A lot of HCs struggle with this. Wells went with Chuckie too long when it was clear a lessened Chuckie wasn’t as good a thrower as DG and then later not as good as Myers. Wells then went with Myers too long when it was clear Love was a better thrower with may more upside. Even many were clamoring for Kennedy over Chuckie. Point is- it’s really hard when the you’re HC and not new for USU HCs even though I agree all criticisms of BA handling the QB room are warranted.flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑August 4th, 2024, 11:26 amI’m not saying Peasley should’ve been our QB the last couple of years, but I feel like BA has mismanaged QBs worse than any coach we’ve ever had. My bigger beef with BA was his public statements about Legas. He should've leaned more into coach speak than he did.

Re: Andrew Peasley update
The strangest misstep was no goal line and short-yardage QB sneaks with Levi. Stuff like that tells me that we didn't try to win under BA for the last 2 seasons. Levi passing the ball on every play in the Tater Bowl was bizarre.flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑August 4th, 2024, 11:26 amI’m not saying Peasley should’ve been our QB the last couple of years, but I feel like BA has mismanaged QBs worse than any coach we’ve ever had. The few times that Levi did short yardage runs in the years being here averaged like 5 yards per carry. Levi was a short-yardage tank that sat on the sidelines because of BA.

Re: Andrew Peasley update
The problem with short yardage Levi is that if they did that then every time he went in the D knew what he was going to do. He really wasn’t a passing threat.SLB wrote: ↑August 4th, 2024, 3:52 pmThe strangest misstep was no goal line and short-yardage QB sneaks with Levi. Levi was one of those power runners that don't fall backwards. He was like a fullback.Hoot wrote: ↑August 4th, 2024, 4:32 pmThe problem with short yardage Levi is that if they did that then every time he went in the D knew what he was going to do. I would add Levi holds the Tater Bowl record for rushing yards (He did that while he was at Wyoming).

Re: Andrew Peasley update
Yeah but he was actually playing QB at Wyoming instead of just being brought in as a gimmick.SLB wrote: ↑August 4th, 2024, 7:34 pmLevi was one of those power runners that don't fall backwards. He threw something like 11 passes that day.Hoot wrote: ↑August 4th, 2024, 7:36 pmYeah but he was actually playing QB at Wyoming instead of just being brought in as a gimmick.SLB wrote: ↑August 4th, 2024, 7:34 pmLevi was one of those power runners that don't fall backwards. Look at the New Mexico game, Levi got 153 rushing yards and 3 rushing TDs.

Re: Andrew Peasley update
Again he was on the field as the QB for the game in both of those example's. He was not brought in for gimmicky plays.SLB wrote: ↑August 4th, 2024, 7:50 pmHe threw something like 11 passes that day.Hoot wrote: ↑August 4th, 2024, 7:36 pmYeah but he was actually playing QB at Wyoming instead of just being brought in as a gimmick.SLB wrote: ↑August 4th, 2024, 7:34 pmLevi was one of those power runners that don't fall backwards. Re: Andrew Peasley update
Peasley got into the Jets preseason game today. Aaron Rodgers is sitting out, and Tyrod Taylor got two possessions in the first quarter, before Peasley got the 2nd quarter and the first series of the third quarter. He had a touchdown pass as well as leading a drive to kick a field goal. He finished 8/11 for 73 yards.

Re: Andrew Peasley update
Peasley was much more talented than Bonner(and Legas) but Bonner knew how to execute the office better so he played. It should’be been Peasleys job year two with Bonner getting hurt and not being right at all.flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑August 4th, 2024, 11:26 amI’m not saying Peasley should’ve been our QB the last couple of years, but I feel like BA has mismanaged QBs worse than any coach we’ve ever had. We don’t win the conference with out Peasley. Blake loved to mismanage that Room.
He ran off Hillstead who was the most talented guy we’ve had since Love.
I think he finally picked the more talented QB with Petras over Legas though.

Re: Andrew Peasley update
A bit of a aside- Grant, the guy who tweeted this, is a radio host of Grant & Danny, when I listened to them they were the midday show after the sports junkies (middle aged dorks who think they’re 20). They’re the late day show now because the former guy was such an azzhat. His partner Danny, does some amazing impressions.
Anyway the context is he’s not thrilled on Forbes, the corner.

Re: Andrew Peasley update
Peasley was more physically gifted but was not consistently accurate, especially in 2021. Peasley helped us win the AFA game but Bonner was the better QB in 2021.Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑August 10th, 2024, 6:42 pmPeasley was much more talented than Bonner(and Legas) but Bonner knew how to execute the office better so he played. A very Peasley-esque line of 7/11 for 33 yards and 25 rushing yards for the Jets in the first half

Re: Andrew Peasley update
Peasley got beat out for the Jets practice squad spot, so now he will try to get someone else to take them on their practice squad.
