14 team playoff on the way

They have not even done a 12 team playoff, but apparently 14 will start in 2026.

This thing eventually goes to 24.

I would welcome that expansion.

How I look at it
Tier 1- Big Ten and SEC
Tier 2- ACC and Big 12
Tier 3 - MWC/PAC 2
Tier 4- Sun Belt and American
Tier 5- MAC and C-USA
Tier 4 and Tier 5 are basically dead conferences in the FBS with the future NIL and TV money difference.

Teams are going to be ragged after all those games.

I'm not sure they'll turn down the money of the extra games, but I do think we'll see more sitting of starters in the season.

At least many of these players are paid now for the sacrifice to their bodies

17 games if you make the championship. You'll definitely see some load management now.

In the end, I guess it will play out..

With each level of competition, there will be fewer players willing to participate/risk injury.

But at the same time the bright lights will shine brighter, and the opportunities for NIL deals will increase dramatically.

I expect it will be a risk/reward decision that the kids are going to have to make. When it comes down to it, and the money to be made, it seems like a reasonable tradeoff.

A} put some number restrictions on rosters so there is a consistent number of players per team throughout the entire NCAA season. No more 120 man corn-fed Nebraska or Iowa rosters. No more 130 man rosters in Fla or Alabama.

B) Abolish forever the concept of the one-year schollie. If a kid is willing to commit4-5 years the the school, the school must commit 4-5 years to the kid.

C) reward every kid on a NCAA Division 1 FBS roster with an established per diem/living expense through the entire season whether a kid ends up hurt and not playing or being the star. Every player on the team, from starting QB to 4th string punter gets the same amount per game. Why wasn't this done long ago? NCAA Greed/Stupidity.

What does that actually equate to financially for the 1)MWC/PAC and the 2)SBC/AAC and the 3)MAC/CUSA?

To me, this signals the beginning of the end for any school trying to maintain status as an FBS program that is not listed among the current G5/G6?

How do they soldier on?
