Re: BA Isn't Getting It Done
We went to a bowl last year- that's getting it done and assuming we lose this game all of our losses are to currently undefeated teams. We had a bunch of people leave for NIL.
Some of you have very unreasonable expectations of where USU is in the college football world.

We have seen piss poor coaching from Blake. If you can’t get a team ready to play football, you have no business coaching at this level.

No we don’t, and frankly a bowl game every year isn’t enough.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2023, 6:45 pmWe went to a bowl last year- that's getting it done and assuming we lose this game all of our losses are to currently undefeated teams. We had a bunch of people leave for NIL.

I don’t care if we win or lose, but at least look competitive. Which we don’t. We aren’t prepared. We are getting embarrassed. Happened against Iowa, Happened Against Air Force, and now it’s happened again against JMU. JMU is good, we don’t look prepared, we don’t have any sense of discipline. This is not good. It’s a direct reflection of coaching.

Re: BA Isn't Getting It Done
While I think this is true, I heard a very weird story about Blake this summer that made me wonder if maybe the stress of coaching is getting to him. And no it has nothing to do with opening and closing his hand in my face.Imakeitrain wrote:We went to a bowl last year- that's getting it done and assuming we lose this game all of our losses are to currently undefeated teams. They have more points than we have yards. This team looks unprepared and undisciplined. All falls on the coaching staff.

Is he going to go back to coop? The weber games was such a disaster I wonder if we should have replaced him afterwards.

Low expectations gets these mediocre results. After the decade we’ve had, 6 win seasons are disappointments.
We won’t win 3 games this year and that’s unacceptable

You don't have an unrealistic expectation AND a "bowl game every year isn't enough"Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2023, 6:48 pmNo we don’t, and frankly a bowl game every year isn’t enough.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2023, 6:45 pmWe went to a bowl last year- that's getting it done and assuming we lose this game all of our losses are to currently undefeated teams. Buddy you went to a school west of the Mississippi that basically accepts everyone that is a distant 3rd within the state in terms of popularity. JMU made Troy, which won the SBC last year have negative rush yards. We are playing a true freshman QB. Last year we had to play a QB that started the year on the development squad just to field a team.
Once you accept the reality of how college sports works maybe you can enjoy life.

I agree with the above, but Blake isn't doing anything this season that any assistant coach couldn't do just as well.

Someone needs to explain to me why the QB change? It's almost like the team has responded to the move by quitting.

Blake’s handling of the Quarterback position is a fire able offense alone.

Retaliation lawsuit, handling of sexual assault, could
Make a great “For Cause” argument if we really wanted too.
I might add, the Smart Lawsuit Lawyer folks here on the this site argue that Buyouts only have to be reasonable. We only have to pay small fractions of this because any judge will have sympathy for our program.

Not at this point. What... "actions are so egregious it's so important we fire him for cause right now and not pay him and we've known the facts for over a year and now we're firing him? " Yeah good luck with that.Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2023, 7:24 pmImakeitrain wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2023, 7:20 pmAlright, bet.Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2023, 7:19 pmBlake’s handling of the Quarterback position is a fire able offense alone.

You don't even know what those cases were about. The retaliation case was weak and Maddox got a bag of chips to go away. The sexual assault lawsuits were because of what Title IX office did and didn't do.
So again will that be cash or card for the buyout? And while you complain about how bad our team is, what are you going to put into NIL pots to ensure we get the best players and can retain good players?

If you can’t see that it’s not a talent issue, it’s a coaching issue, I don’t know what to tell you. You can keep dumping for Blake all You want. Good coaches get better, bad coaches get worse. Re: BA Isn't Getting It Done
We need a coaching change. I don't know how many times where bad plays are made because of coaching and having the wrong players. Why is Meachem out there starting when we have Maui? Why is Mells a backup when he is clearly the best DT? It goes on and on with wrong players.

bet… tell me how we get the money to buyout the contract. Blake being a highly respected coach tell us who is going to want to coach here when making a bowl and winning a mwc championship isn’t good enough.Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2023, 7:41 pmIf you can’t see that it’s not a talent issue, it’s a coaching issue, I don’t know what to tell you. There is clearly a talent issue. We had massive turnover from last year. It’s a rebuilding year. We aren’t Alabama we can’t just “reload” all the time.
You clearly underestimated JMU. I didn’t. I’ve been ringing the alarm bell for this game for a long time.
Compare that to me. Who before the season even started said
It looks like i was right based on our performance against both teams.Imakeitrain wrote: ↑August 18th, 2023, 11:17 pmJMU is probably going to roll us. If you recall I wanted us to hire cignetti after Gary left. I really like Blake. But JMU is a damn good program.
We have a better chance at beating Iowa than JMU imho. Sounds bold. But Iowa can struggle to move the ball at times. If JMU played Iowa, I’d pick JMU and that’s the reason I think we’d have a better shot at beating Iowa. They would have won the Sun Belt last year had the rules allowed for it.

How much can be expected when you have 59 new players on the team? This is not all on Blake Anderson. This is college football for the have nots in small markets.

Re: BA Isn't Getting It Done
And what do you know, that drive stalls, we burn our 2nd timeout on the first play of the drive because Coach doesnt have the offense ready after the punt. He calls a run on 3rd and long, to then kick the field goal on Fourth and short. Only to miss it with a shakey kicker. Consider me shocked. He got blown out by weber state at home, Offense got shut out actually, but because he got us to the frisco bowl, he deserves to stay for life!
Even if we come back and win this game, its clear he isnt the guy. And were just delaying the inevitable.
